Here is the reason I have been putting the Crapi build on hold...

After a great season of racing both at Castrol and Stratotech, and a second engine with in the first 1800 km of the cars life, I have taken it upon myself to (try to) ensure we are not sidelined at all for the 2010 season....

Although we are still looking for sponsors to fund the engine that is already in the mustang I am in the process of building a new engine for the car. I am funding this project on my own for now, I have been raising funds for the project two ways,

1) Selling the pull of parts from the mustang (graciously donated by Freedom Ford)
2) Not telling my wife and putting it on the credit card... (haha)

I am building the engine with two goals,

1) Bullitt Proof (forged internals)
2) Increased power (I want a true 500 hp to th rear wheels)

In addition to the above, this new engine will have a 5.0 displacement.

I could go bigger, but there is something about a 5.0 engine in a police car that I think is... cool...

The base for this build:

4.6l out of a 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII, it has 120000 km on it

Why a 4.6 out of a Lincoln? This is a Teksid Block, originally cast Italy, and one of the strongest aluminum blocks Ford has used in production. (There is some debate that the current block used in the 05-09 mustang is just as strong or stronger):dunno:

With help from Rob Sparschuh of the Block Shop, (You might be seeing a Block Shop sticker on the Mustang in the near future)

And Jeff Mead,

We started to dissemble the block today

Just got back from the block shop, the Teksid block is a touch cleaner then I last left it... (still a bit more to go)

Here is the 94 mm sleeve that, with 7 of its friends will find a home in the teksid block... making the stock 90 mm ones homeless... (haha)

The block in the background is the orginal block out of the mustang... more gore pics coming....

Interesting point of note... here is prime example of the reason the teksid block is stronger then the stock 05-09 (WAP) block

Teksid:

Gore Pics!

Here are some pics of the orginal block and the damage I was able to do with 12 lbs of boost on a stock engine:

Well, my dream of having a 5.0 in this car has been quashed... it will be a 5.3 when is all said and done....
