Hi all,
Since everyone is complaining about the lack of local Solo II events this year, I thought I'd let you know about an upcoming 2 day event in Red Deer put on by the Calgary Sports Car Club...

Hi All
I'm giving notice of the up coming CALGARY SPORTS CAR CLUB STAMPEDE MOTORSPORT WEEKEND being held on the 5 & 6 of July 2003 in Red Deer AB at the Westerner Park 4847A - 19 st. At this time I'm looking for pre-registration , SAVE $10.00 on full two day fee, by registering early 27 June 2003. I need a head count for the banquet which is part of your reg. fee. The Saturday is a CSCC event and Sunday is a WCMA points event. Fill out the attached entry form and return it to me.

Regards
Bill Tobias

Just a few clarifications....
1. You will have to class your car properly for this event. If you don't know what class you are in, they'll probably be able to tell you, but it would help everyone involved if you could figure this out ahead of time.

2. CSCC uses the Canadian National Autoslalom Championship (CNAC) rules for their events. You can find a copy of the rules at http://www.cnacsolo.ca/. Trophies for this event are based on these rules.

3. As mentioned above, the Sunday event also counts towards the Western Canadian Motorsports Association (WCMA) regional series. Naturally, the WCMA uses a slightly different rule set from CNAC. They are almost identical, and the differences only affect cars in the Stock class with R compounds or 13/14" stock wheels.

4. Newcomers to the sport should not be intimidated by all the rules and trophies and stuff. I first attended this event 2 years ago for what was my 3rd and 4th days of autoxing. I got my butt kicked, but had a good time and got a T shirt out of the deal.

5. You can probably find more info by scrounging around at:
http://www.cscc.ab.ca/
http://cscc.speedracer.ca/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cscc/

6. I'll update this post when I have the email address for the organizer.

Bump.

One week to go. All you budding autoxers should come down. If you can't make it both days, you can still run just one. Fun event, big lot, should be lots of time for fun runs at the end of the day too.

No but you would have saved $10 if you did. Just make sure you are there early enuf Saturday morning for registration and tech. I think registration closes at 9.

Did you figure out your class? I thought you were D/SS or D/SP.

Yah, unfortunate timing, but I'm more of an autox guy than a car show guy, so there's no real conflict for me.

I'd guess that official runs would end around 3:30 or so on Saturday, with fun runs going after that, so you could theoretically do both. Could be a bitch being back there for 9 AM Sunday, but like I said, you can just enter one day.

I think i'm in D/SP, and since i'm putting in headers in tomorrow, i'm for sure in SP with some of hte other points. I'll know for sure when i go for tech.

Do i need to print out and bring this form with me? Where are the time posted for registratino and tech etc?

I was close, you get to sleep in another half hour. The pretech on Friday night is optional. its just to save a little time Saturday AM.

I don't think you have to print out the form and bring it with you. Might save a couple of minutes Saturday morning if you do though.

Hey Pat... I have seen info that says tech closes at 9 am.... Best for everyone to get there as early as you possibly can..... to give you time to relax before running and walk the course ( it will be a LONG course to walk )
