I've found that both Sumaru's Auto, Al's Auto Wreckers (Niel/Damien), and Prodrag/Zippy's are awesome resources.

I drive an 84 Nissan that parts are hard to find and these people can always come through w/ excellent prices, timing, and great installs! Whether it be OEM or Aftermarket!

I would deffinatly recommend these shops and their staff to people in Edmonton.

For the Honda and Toyota guys I would recommend wilson's autotech a million times over, They really know there stuff and really believe in a little thing called "customer satisfaction."

for alarms and stereo the guys at Tec-Auto took really good care of my alarm. Same day service, cheap and when I lost my alarm transmitter, I got a new one and they re-programmed it for free, just said "drop by man, we'll do that for you no problem". Only complaint was they forgot to take a pair of pliers out of my engine bay! Found it on the way home, but no harm no foul.

So there you go, Auto-Tec and Tec-Auto, that's all you need to know!

shops to stay away from would definately be EZ Motorsports and Auto-Toyz, unless you like being jerked around.

Bought some JDM parts from them. Responded to all PM's and they seem to have decent prices. And yes they refunded some money to me because they sent me the wrong JDM part.

Highly recommended...

In the avoid category, I would put Silverstone.

Silverstone seems to classify all customers as "friends of the owner or employees" and "everybody else". If you don't fall in the first category, you get jerked around.

I was told I was being sold a rebuilt JDM motor, and later found out that they hadn't done anything to it. They just brought it in from Japan, and dumped it in my engine bay as is. I ended up being charged a lot more than other places I checked afterward.

I dont recommend Silent Rage due to they jecked me around on a motor that they had "in stock" for a week. Never did get the motor and will never phone there again.

Dealt with Auto Zeal in Calgary lately and had good service and pricing from them.

Steve at Midas 111av & 97st knows what he's doing. Very satisfied so far.
PE Tuning seems pretty good. Very helpful guys. And they have a Dyno. :)

Stay away from EZ Motorsports. Stay Away from "fat" Albert at N1 Motorsports.

precisioin performance on like 60st and yellowhead ..... garbage.. they took almost 5 months to rebuild an engine for me... and it was a jbody... go figure... that and my licence plate got stolen while the car was parked in their compound... and the rental car they gave me was an 88 civic with a busted window and no heat... this was winter time..

Top Tech Auto

12516-124th Street

Honda Acura Specialists

I went to these guys to get my shaky stearing wheel checked, they took it for a cruz (with me in the vehicle of course) and jacke dit up for no charge, found that my front left tire had a split causing my prob. So I got my oil changed, and tomorrow Kal tire gets to give me new tires (there good years, came with the car)

Awesome service, they know what ther edoin, not to into performance stuff as far as i know, but for reg maintenance they killl the dealers (Oil change there 31 bux with semi wynthetic oil) price and serivice.

Thumbs up to these guys, they'll be seein all the work for my lude!

PS - There head mechanics/owners were the top mechanics for Honda in the early and mid 90's in Canada.

Recommended:

1) Midas (97th Street & 111 Ave) since I get all my regular maintenance done on both of my daily drivers. Steve is a top notch guy!

2) PE Tuning / Performance Evolution since they have a vast knowledge of honda preludes, jdm parts, and they have a dyno.

3) Alberta Honda since I've had nothing but good service from them.

I won't get into a pissing match over my "not recommended" shops so I'll keep those to my self, unless someone asks.
