Default 1986 Z28 Camaro Build (Dont make fun of me!)

This is the build thread for my car, while it may not fit the criteria of the website I am trying to build it into something a bit nicer then your typical beat down, trailer park wife beater car. Enough rambling. Here it is, my 1986 Z28. Plans are for it to be on the road this summer, 95% of the parts are here and its just a matter of putting it all together. I bought it in April of 2012, it had been stolen and crashed but thankfully hadnt been tagged as a write off. When I bought it, it was missing the entire front clip and was rocking a 155hp 305 with a T5 5 speed. This all got gutted to be replace by the engine I built, along with a Tremec TKO600, and a Moser 9". Anyways... Here are some picstures.

Several large dents in the roof.

Since the stock paint was decent and not flaking I decided against stripping the car to bare metal other then the areas that needed filler. Couple hours with a DA, some 180 grit, stud spot puller and some filler the roof and quarter was ready for high build. It seems as though this car may have gone 4x4'ing at some point because I found a lot of small twigs and branches wedged under the car. The passenger side was full of small dents, scratches and creases.

1986 Camaro Z-28 Outlaw 8.5, Twin turbo SBC, 930RWHP on pump gas, 12-1300rwhp on race gas.

    Best 1/4 mile - 8.35 @ 170 MPH (275 drag radial)
    Best 1/8 mile - 5.40 @ 132 MPH (275 drag radial)
    Best 1/8 mile - 5.70 @ 132 MPH (26 x 8.5 slick)

    Sprayed some 2k high build.

Blocksanding highbuild... The entire car is getting another coat of high build yet and Im going to block it from 320-600.

Went over the rest of the car with the DA and some 180 to prep it for high build. Hoping to have paint on it by the end of february.

This is as up to date as the body work gets, The front fenders are in high build and need to be blocked on more time before paint.

Since I work for a machine shop I decided to build a engine of of stuff we mainly had laying around the shop to keep it cheap. But I got carried away and ended up spending quite a bit.

Can you still grow hair up there, Grampa?? Who am I to talk, I'm losing more by the day.

OP, that is one hell of an impressive transplant. Not keen on the chassis of choice, but to each their own. Subscribed!

Make fun of you? You've already accomplished more on this build so far than 80% of the members on this site have in their whole lives. Any build with an effort is a good build imho. Oh and nice engine .
