Default Badlands Motorsports complex is approved.

The land has officially been rezoned for a race track.

Today at the regular meeting of the Kneehill County Council, the Badlands Motorsport Resort Land Use Bylaw # 1657 received third and final reading and was passed._
    _
Our land is now rezoned to SPECIFIC DIRECT CONTROL DISTRICT DC4_that will_allow development of_ BADLANDS MOTORSPORT_RESORT.

There are no contingencies. We still need permits, and to get those we need to complete a Environmental Impact Assessment (slightly more detailed than the Biophysical Impact Assessment we have done) and a Traffic Impact Assessment, but we knew this all along._ There is no more public hearings.

Awesome, I remember hearing about Badlands a while ago. It will still probably be a few years at best until it opens right?

a few years is an understatement. if they start building within 5 years, we can celebrate.
Wow...the first AE86 I've seen in a while that doesn't have retarded camber and owned by a hipster. Good job on keeping it clean! Looks great

I got an email from badlands motorsports about a VIP pre-launch event, so I guess it's opening soon? i thought about bumping this thread, but it's so old

their website has a countdown now

    https://badlandsmotorsportsresort.com/

    also from the website

"In the fall of 2017, The Badlands Motorsports Resort project earned final approvals for development in Kneehill County. Our team is currently in the construction planning stage, and is preparing to commence construction mid-2018 with a forecasted Grand-Opening in 2019."

Came in here to say, hey cool.... I started the damn thread lol.

Nice job to pull this from the depths as opposed to starting a new one.

I’d say it would be worth the drive to go back west to try it... but we have pretty rad tracks here already.

The Purgatory corner is supposed to be more intense (longer, steeper) than the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca... I can only imagine how hard that'll be on front tyres.

Looking forward to going down south in 2019 to check it out!
