Thanks! Pretty stoked to be back, but it was super humbling that's for sure. Also funny because I was turbo unprepared -I grabbed a shirt I used to workout with and tossed it in my bag. Apparently, it's a tummy shirt now whenever I lift my arms when doing the positive of a bench press movement. Also, I only brought one sport sock lol The only other socks I had with me at the time were the black dress socks I was wearing so I just went sockless. Didn't want to look like a turbo virgin in a tank top, shorts, and dress socks.

I woke up several times last night from rustling/rolling around because every time I moved, the pain from DOMS woke me up. It also kept me up for an hour too. What a shitty sleep lol

Today is back day if I can get out of a meeting early enough.

LOL! I accidentally showed up at the gym the other day in my loafers. Had to go home and get my runners.

I'm pretty sore today too. I realized that my form had gone to shit (specifically squat) since my 2-month break. I was trying to ramp back up fairly quickly, and I was having lots of back pain. I was standing far too narrow and bending my back. Instead of widening my stance and bending at the hips. So I paid particular attention to form last night. And today I can barely walk. lol.

I'm still hovering around 240-245lbs. Eating habits have changed a little bit. Not eating as healthy as I was. But weight isn't changing. And I'm not noticing any decrease in my performance at the gym. That being said, I'm not making stellar gains either. Will have to buckle down and get in the habit of paying attention to what I eat. Again, still waiting for my shoulder to be 100% before I go hardcore.

Found out my current maxes after taking a month off from the gym.. Bench: 325 Squat: 405 Deadlift: 425

    First workout,
    Bench: 235 (2x9)
    Squat: 295 (2x9)
    Deadlift: 315 (2x7)

Be curious to see how I feel after the 13 week program.

I've been going his PHAT system for a while and have gained a lot of strength off of it, burnt out though (Hence the month off) so it's nice to mix it up.

I'd love to get to a 365 bench, 465 squat and a 500+ deadlift. It'll happen. Just time now.
Going to give this a try.

I enjoyed that 5/3/1 program a lot too when I was doing it. Thoroughly enjoying the program now, just finished week 4 - went through to see if there are any improvements. Rather than testing 1RM the program asks that you go to failure on sets @ 85% of 1RM and see how many reps you can bust out. If you're trying out this program, definitely follow through until at least week 4 - there are a LOT of deadlifts, squats and presses.

    Today..

    Squat, previous max 405.
    85% = 345x8
    New max (Calculated) 415-420

    Bench, previous max 325.
    85% = 275, hit 10 reps.
    New max (Calculated) 330-335

    Deadlift, previous max 425.
    85% = 365, hit 7 reps.
    New max (Calculated) 435-440

Currently sitting at 231 today - fluctuating between 228-230 most days. Roughly 17-18% bodyfat - and a whopping 29.6% BMI (Which is a crock for sure, just find it funny)

Goal over the winter is to stay as close to 230lb as possible though I expect to his about 235-240. Weight wise I'd really like to hit a 365lb bench, 465 squat and 500lb deadlift. Consistently.

Then come April start a calorie deficit and reach 215-220 body weight.
