Default My attempt at building a bike: 1972 Honda CB450

I've always thought about tinkering on a bike, but before I started on this project I had absolutely no knowledge or experience on them. The best way for me to learn is by getting my hands dirty, so I decided to jump head first, and I bought a CB450 that had been sitting in a shed for 26 years... Then I bought another one for parts.

Here are the first three mini episodes that I've completed so far:

Awesome. Crazy you would jump into this with no bike experience.
    I have a '72 cb350. Registration expired just before I was born.
If you didn't already, check eBay for parts, tons on there.
Looking forward to more on this

Cool project. Definitely look forward to seeing it around town come summer time.

As a side note, consider taking a motorcycle course in the spring, it'll teach you things you won't learn on your own.

I figured it was the best way to do it. If I get in over my head or get cold feet, I could turn around and sell everything and chalk it up to a learning experience. I have no plans to do that however.

I lust for a CB350. Very cool bike. I have been digging around on eBay, nothing too much yet. Will be making a big parts order pretty soon though, likely from Common Motor Collective.

Definitely will do this. I'm a pretty cautious person and the reason I never got on a bike before was because I was too scared to. I'm going to do everything I possibly can to prepare myself before I get on any roads.

and it's about time you do something with it, or it's going to be sitting in the same spot for the next 30+ years

Got a bit sidetracked on this video. Bought another bike and visited the Honda motorcycle exhibit at Reynolds Alberta Museum!
