    Default Edmonton tag 2017

Welcome to Edmonton tag 2017. After reviving the game with some success last April, I got busy with life and moving and had to take a break. Figured with a new year it was a good chance to start it up again.

The last open tag was posted by Carman in August 2016

    Final score for 2016 was:

    Triallity: 9
    1991g92z28: 7
    carman: 6
    AudiInProgress: 2
    Markous: 2
    REV-NRG!:1
    ubique: 1
    Shaina: 1
    Alpha Gangsta: 1
    The general: 1

    Rules:

#1 - Find the tag and reproduce the photo (as best as possible). The first person to post the found tag claims the right to post the next tag. Posting from a mobile device, laptop, public/private WiFi, 4G dongle, etc... is acceptable. In rare cases where 2 or more players post the claiming tag displaying identical post times, only the first player may claim the point and post the next tag.

#2 - Take the tag to a new location, get the photo and post it here. Try and make the tag in unique places, or in places that may show a little bit of history. Try to use landmarks/historical sites and what not for locations.

#3 - Tag must be a) findable and b) may only be placed on a dirt road if a lowered car can make it. Maintained gravel is OK, but make sure to let folks know that gravel is required to get to your tag. We don't want to exclude those who don't like to get dirty.

#4a - File photos/old stock photos are permitted to claim a tag. If you so happen to have a photo of your vehicle in the same location than for the time being I will allow it until the game picks up again. (I figure this will not happen very often and if someone knows where a particular tag is, and happens to have a photo of a vehicle they still own with it, then I will allow it)

#4b - Occasionally a tag can not be closely reproduced due to afterhours inaccessibility, traffic, road construction, etc. Claimed tags posted under these conditions may be accepted provided that the photo:
    i) clearly shows the landmark and owners car in frame
ii) is not a file photo

#5 - Your car has to be in the tag picture.

#6 - You've got 24 hours to place a new tag after snagging it. If you fail to post up a new tag, other members can claim the previous tag by reproducing the current tag photo location and then posting their new tag. This is to keep it from being boring with lazy deadbeat taggers. *You do not keep the point for the tag if someone else claims it.*

#7 - If you know the tag location, do not ruin the game for everyone else and tell everyone where it is! Exception: If the game is stalled, you may give a few hints to get the ball rolling.

#8 - As the game gets larger an old tag may accidentally get reproduced by a new player. This is acceptable but not liked by players who have visited the site beforehand because they have to drive there again, see rule #4.

#9 - 2017 Game officially ends on December 31st, 2017 @ 11:59pm. Score will be finalized, and posted.

Here is to hoping 2017 will be the biggest year yet!

*** This is a continuously evolving game. If you have any ideas or suggestions that you feel may improve the game for everyone, please feel free to PM me or comment in the thread. Keep in mind this is a game run by the players. Those who participate will have the most influence on how it can improve. Thanks! ***
