Default Car color not matching registration

When a car is temporary wrapped, dipped or whatever color change method is used, do you have to register it with the new color? Not painted, so door jams, hood jams, etc... remain OEM color. What do you do in this case?

    Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't since it's not a permanent change, but you can ask them when you're registering it.

I've had like 4 color changes in the last 5 years no issues. A friend of mine got pulled over tonight and got a ticket for like 150 bucks for car not matching registration. I asked a cop at a gas station like 3 years ago and said as long as its temporary and it comes off you dont need to re register it. Just wondering if anything changed?

As far as I'm aware... You don't need to make document changes when you change the color.

Like you said, if you're wrapping or dipping your car all the time, it would be a royal PITA every time you change your mind.

It may make you more likely to have a random stop by the police. If they run the plates and the color is different, it would be suspicious, they might pull you over to verify the vin is correct, just in case the plate has been swapped, etc..

you'll more than likely get hassled over it if pulled over, but i don't see anything in the TSA that says you'll be towed or ticketed for it. might just be a bit more hassle (checking vins, etc.)
