    Default Star Trek: Discovery

Why is noone talking about this show?.

Some of the subplots are meh, but the main storyline is pretty good.

    Criticisms:

    The Good:
When Michael Burnam gets on the "Discovery" That new captain is fucking badass and not really firing on all cylinders.

Decent FX, they spent a good portion of the budget on this. Some of it looks bad (certain scenes in the first three episodes) but it looks like they've worked it out now.

Plenty of space battles, which is what I want to see.

Some solid characters that, unfortunately, do not get introduced until later on.

    The Bad:
They are trying too hard to include EVERYTHING relevant (gender neutral names, over diversifying, etc.) Now, I don't have a problem with any of these, but when it becomes time to "reveal" these things, they put it front and center to drive the point home. It's abit distracting from the story they are trying to tell.

After the first three episodes were brutal.

The Klingons look awful, sound awful, and perform awkward. They should not have redesigned them.

Ship design: looks abit silly. Not sure about the new "voice" for the console.

Overall, good sci fi show that will feed/fill a much needed space that is missing.

    To quote Cadet Tilly,

"You guys, this is so fucking cool!"

Don't like everything about the show (especially the Klingon re-design like CR mentioned) but i'm still excited to see where things go when it resumes in January.

The one character is named after a real life mycologist and technical advisor to the show Paul Stamets who was just recently on the Joe Rogan podcast.

I watched the first 2 episodes with my wife... We didn't like it. It was brutal.

    Skip/FF through the first three.

Like i said, I like Michelle Yeoh, but she was awful in that role.

If you can, start at the 4th episode when she gets on the Discovery.

Orville is like Star Trek light, kinda of what the ST:TNG was like (hell, episode 3 could've been from ST:TNG) just don't expect any slapstick type humor, it's mostly serious with some laughs.

The last couple of episodes have been GREAT!

Always had a funny feeling about Lorka.
