    Default Basement Layout

    Anyone here develop basements?

Looking for someone to give me a good layout to a shitty basement before I develop it.

    Thanks.

My brother designs custom houses for a living (one step below an architect, so all the talent without the stamp lol), if you like I can put you in touch with him to toss around some ideas.

Get some masking tape and mark out some rough layouts (wall locations in the floor). It instantly lets you see how it would look and picture the walls. I did this with a BRUTAL layout and mine will be finished by Xmas with exactly what we wanted.

Ya that would be great. Shoot me a PM with his contact info.

    Thanks.

JugZ, good idea. Did you build yourself?

Post up a quick drawing of the footprint along with rough ins, furnace etc. And how many bedrooms and other stuff you want, maybe we can help out. I work in new housing and see all sorts of ideas and layouts.

I did what JUGZ mentioned, works really well. You really get a feel for size when you do this.

It would be nice to have 1 bedroom, a storage room with laundry space, and an open theater/rec room. Also one bathroom.

Verify that those windows meet code (size) to allow a bedroom.

I believe they meet code as they are 4'X2'.
