The last two bottles I bought recently were still somewhat reasonably priced.

Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban - 12 year (port cask)
    Glenfarclas 12 year

They were both around $70ish. And both are very decent drams.

FYI: The prices of scotch at Wine and Beyond have gotten RIDICULOUS. When they first opened, their prices were really competitive. Now, they are fucking bananas.

I'm sort of comparing to costco, though. Whatever scotch costco carries is WAAAAAAAAAAY cheaper. e.g. balvenie, dalwhinnie, even the glenfarclas 21 is about $100 cheaper than Wine and Beyond. The Dalmore 15 at costco was $87 whereas it was $110'ish at Wine and Beyond.

It appears their goal was to lure people in a habitual manner to shop there under the guise of fair prices. Then over the years they would raise their prices. I know it's hard to compare to stores that buy in bulk like costco, but man, that shit at Wine and Beyond is on a different level.

Wine & Beyond is a chain that'll have some reasonable buying power, too though. That's shitty of them.
    Thanks for the heads up.

AFAIK Wine & Beyond is within the same ownership group as Liquor Barn and Liquor Depot.

I've noticed scotch prices have gone up at most places I've looked and our shitty dollar and the NDP's sin tax are the likeliest culprits.

You are correct - Wine and Beyond is the same ownership group as Liquor Depot from what I know. I dunno about liquor barn, though.

A bottle of glenlivet 21 used to be $125. I was happy paying that. Now it's $225-$250 at Wine and Beyond!!! I have yet to compare to anywhere else though.

^Liquor Barn is definitely under Liquor Depot, so, they're all in the same group.

Someone go buy this and report back. There's a 12yo and a cheaper one. I bet they're actually very good and a super value. 60oz bottles
