there have been plenty of swaps moving the engine and trans from the front of the car to the rear in the VW world, VR6's, 1.8T's, there are even a few dual engined care floating around, rocco with dual 16V's, mk1 rabbit with the same setup, a toronto car has dual VR6's in a MK2 chassis golf. It can be done, with skills, knowledge, time and money.

I can tell you're going to do really well here. Hopefully you know this guy, and are just ribbing him.

If you've owned a honda before then I suppose that gives you permission haha.. I guess I m fully qualified (3 integras)
but enough about that...

This build is very much possible. You can do anything with anything given the right tools and place to build.

first I would start and see what VW came stock RWD..Then see if anything is compatable..

orrrr move everything from the front to the back..
You can look at some mid engine vw builds, and even learn from non v-dub.. speaking about hondas:

Mid Engine RWD Del Sol:
http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1266033

Mid engine RWD Integra:
http://www.team-integra.net/forum/d...;TopicID=106670

and for VEEDUB
MK2 Golf:

That is a pretty sweet mk2 but what im looking into is taking the engine and rear end out of an old beetle the body is a couple of inches wider on the golf then the beetle so i don't think its going to be much of a problem.

Hondas vs. VWs? Now that sounds like a serious showdown!!
I'm all for it! Once my civ is ready, I'll let you know
Still, I know one VW that will be picking dust out of it's teeth that day.....
