Just out of curiousity...
how is the traffic on these forums been lately?
the automotive forums seem a little slower then they used to be.
I'm just wondering... |

Traffic has been consistant, but no huge jump in hits. We're sitting at about 300-500 hits a day. Our site is very popular for lurkers, people are shy I guess.
Any suggestions as to how to get people to post? |

we need to break them out...maybe cuz REFLUX, me and ANDY scare them away haha

you guys, maybe some sorta' informal asianet.ca meet plausible?
get people together in the park for local edmonton people?...
then again it may just turn into a car meet. <!--emo&:sly:--><img src="http://asianet.ca/images/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':sly:'><!--endemo--> |

Marlowe: AN has meets all the time, usually bubble tea or somtin
wen i was bak in Xmas a few guys got together @ Outback Steakhouse
but i'd b up for wat u suggested........
go to some park to chuck around a football/frisbee would b coo
Mark: i think a big reason why new ppl dont post is because most topics are flooded by "the regulars" of AN
(Andy, me, Vince, DG, Scin, Genki, etc) and we all "know" each other to a certain degree
due to us knowing each other, our topics are too specific towards each other for others to post in
(eg. Hey Andy, how's your wedding coming? Hey DG how you cutting your hair?)
only "solution" i can think of is for the regulars to create/post more open ended threads
AND time.......can't expect AN to grow so fast so soon i guess......*shrug*
hope that helps!!!!! |

The reads on topics are huge, some of the other forums I go to have about 1 write to 4 reads, but on V8less/Asianet its like 1 write to 10 reads.
I dont think its a traffic problem, its a posting problem.
People are just shy. |

didn't realize that...
yeah, shy people i guess.
I lurke a lot on here myself,... and post like mad for a little while then dissappear again.
well, thanks for answering the question you guys.
my curiousity has been satisfied. <!--emo&:cool:--><img src="http://asianet.ca/images/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':cool:'><!--endemo--> |

Well, after a week stint of moving and almost nil access to internet, I'm back in the formums posting (and back at work) Hopefully when this @#$^&*! snow goes away, I'll start up the bubble tea meets and dinner meets.
I have done absolutely nothing for our V8less nights and pretty much nothing for the forums... Hopefully be fixed soon...
Hows this for a name for our event: Import Mid-Nights? |
