How long have those cars been out? Six months? Pity, such a good looking car.

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
that is soo sad

A guy where I work has been looking at the Mazda 6. he said Mazda is releasing a letter to all owners about a fix for their cars. And not a cheap fix, they are going to fix them properly. Also i guess its only a certain time of manufacturing, cant remember exactly the dates, but I guess the new ones don't have the rusting problem.

Good to see Mazda is going to fix things....would hate to buy a new car and have that happen. Plus the mazda 6 is a nice car.

thats one hell of a recall to release to your customers.
id hate to try and explain that to some people!

A recall like that is gonna hurt the resale bad.

ha ha! It's a miracle if Mazda does anything about that. North American cars practically come like that. If you read the warranty carefully it usually says, the manufacturer only covers rust through holes, not paint or surface rust. Yeah, shitty I know. I wonder if BMW or Porsches have these kind of problems? :tear:

Nightstalker
Thats brutal.. if I had one that was all ready rusting I would want them to take the car back. if they didn't I would likley go postal.. thats reatarded

nope, you get what you pay for :P

Flex
It was a flaw in the manufacturing process. If you look at the newer models of the 6 they dont have the same problem. They actually shut the plant down and found the problem and corrected it.

God I cant wait till I get my hands on a Mazda 6. Its nice that mazda is also coming out with the 3 to replace the protege and protege 5. I will admit that the mazda 6 is the one car (around the 35K price margin) that I think looks better than mine, that said, I dont really like the futuristic console all that much though, and to get an after market deck has got to be hard as hell to fit in there. Besides that, the SVT mustange cobra with body kit looks the best for 35K and above.

ManHunter
Hmmm, the SVT Cobra is quite a few dollars more than 35k.

thats why its my 35K and above car, those things would normally cost about 60,000$ im guessing, with the kit and all.

There is alot more cars out there better than a Grand Am bud.

Ahh no not this again, like I have said before, I love the look of a nicely done up grand am, even the stock ones look really cool TO ME! Nothing personal at all, I just like the good of Grand Am and SVT cobra's.

bonhome
Alright, and to each his own. I would just appreciate that you don't always say how cool grand ams are and that there better than all other cars. But I don't want another war goin on so Ill just drop it.

:werd: My moms system in her '96 really pounds.

You don't put friggin body kits on Cobra's. (btw...MSRP is $47,000)

The only Mustang that has anything even close to a body kit on it is the Cobra R. But, its not a body kit, it is merely some ground effects.

Neo-Blue99GASE
I had no idea on that curtis, I thought that was a body kit, not GE's. Also, I just want to know some of your opinions. Honestly, how good do you find stock systems on imports? I really dont bring this up much, but in my experience, import systems dont tend to be as good as domestic, my buddy's RSX-S and my other buddys '04 WRX kinda got me thinking on that, even with aftermarket decks, they dont sound as good as some domestics. Anyone else notice this?

SplineZ
stock stereos tend to blow in anything but highroller cars :)

but this thread is about rusty mazda 6's... not stereos, or mustangs :)

Honestly, I would NEVER replace the factory speakers in my car....6 Infinity speakers.

All I have for a system is a decent deck, a mid-range class D amp and a single 10. The treble is excellent, and the bass is just nice. Very good sound quality.

I wouldn't compete with it or anything, but the clarity at high volume is excellent.

Ya, well I think everyone is going to have a loyalty to there own car type.. this is likley do to the fact I think eveyone buys the car that suits them best so why would they not feel that way.. even if it is a hurten domestic. :P..

I drive a civic and my car is a favority target for almost anyone.. But its the best car that I could afford that fills the needs that I have right.. My mom use to have a grand prix and I will NEVER own anything that is even remotely close to that car.. My mom actually blames be for killing it but the engines are only good for like 150,000 KM then you have to throw the whole car way.. and that is quoting my mechanic who I would trust with anything. He is incrediably blunt and does great work.
