Project Ground Zero Talon - Click HERE for Original Thread

I recently was going to sell my talon but a friend of mine made me change my mind, why sell a car you love. The porblem i ran into was cost to modify. Parts for civics are half the price of parts for DSM's and try to find a body kit for a 1st gen that isnt on every other first gen in north america. I recently moved back home and have quite a bit of extra money around now to play with (Close to $1400 a month extra) and i am only 19 so my parents arnt in a hurry to get me out ha. But what i need from you guys is some suggestions. I want to mold a 98 Eclipse widebody kit onto my first gen but will it look like shit? is there any other kits out there that would look good, i am estimating close to $1000 for body work per peice and i get paint for free so thats not a problem its just finding a kit that will work and look good. Also i am pricing out a new JDM engine so my JDM Non-Turbo will be for sale if anyone is interested. Please let me know if anyone has some ideas of what would make a good show car. I want it done by june.

Sell yours and buy a 2G Turbo AWD DSM and save yourself the headaches, hassle and money in converting yours to a turbo 2G.

Insomniac
I have yet to see a nice looking 1g with a kit.

my 2 cents

Yeah why spend all that money to make it look like a 2g when you can just buy a turbo 2g with all that money you have... i know it would be different but it would be kinda a waste

MitsuGuy
i would sell and buy a Tsi but i know my car is is great shape. when i bought it, it was bone stock still had stock radio thing was un-touched. I would rather swap a turbo engine and know everything about my vehicle then start over and risk blowing another engine (has happened to me 3 times)

MitsuGuy
what about this kit

http://www.andysautosport.com/eagle/images...s/92talongf.jpg

they have a sale on $699 US for whole kit

SplineZ
I think stock 1g talons are some of the best looking cars out there. They dont need any help from kit makers..

i agree, love the shape and curves of the car, very ahead of its time for the early 90 modles, I really like the interior and how that is even quite upto date aswell as the instument cluster and gauges. one thing I dislike about 1g's i donno if 2g's are asbad but the side mirrors are useless, i sholder check 95% of the time because i dont like using them.

redbaron303
Isn't it a rule of thumb.....

"anything's possible with money..."

It's not as simple as just swaping an engine!!!!!!!

limecorrado
talk to my bro Fiero type s.he might be able to fit something on your car.

Keith:"love the shape and curves of the car, very ahead of its time for the early 90 modles" i'm not trying to start something but what do you mean i can think of like 10 cars that were just as "ahead of there time" looking as the talon in the early 90's 300zx,crx,integra,corrado,240sx,celica,mr2,supra,r
x7,& stealth.

  Pay me the $1400 a month for a year and in exchange I'll give you a nice black hachi roku!

Honestly though, I think Splinez has it right, those cars just don't looks right with a bodykit on them. Spend all that money making the car haul ass reliably and people will like it even more!

You have a JDM non turbo?

why kit a dsm? In my opinion nothing beats a lowered dsm with fresh paint, tinted windows and rims.

djshortys
buy my NOS!

andy!

i'm gonna put in a vote for the clean, dropped look.
these cars look perfect!

if you want custom, this car was built in winnipeg by my friends' brother. he sold it to some guy in calgary. it has a street fighter front bumper originally made for an integra. this car isn't really my style, but i have to admit, that it looks a lot better in person with the 19" rims that were originally on the car.

I've seen that car in real life, and it's just as ugly in person, as it is in the photos. :puke:

stealth
^

almost as ugly as that CRX/BMW/Mercedes piece of shit.

Answering your question i think lower it with rims, i always liked that second white talon, its so clean

SplineZ
I'd like the second/third one more if it had the black rear spoiler.. All the other ones dont really tickle my fancy..

That is ONE SICK BASTARD, whoever it is that grafted ACURA parts onto a perfectly fine DSM. Now all the other DSM's are gonna laugh at it. Poor car will never be fast now. :D

Edit: He should have gone JDM front clip. :gay: :D

I just puked up and swalled it because I'm in my office.
That's worse than a cottage cheese sandwhich at 4:00AM. :puke: :puke: :puke:
