winter drifting is great! an old fwd pos does the trick beautifully :D

I drove all the way downtown this morning, got out of my car, stepped on the ice, and promptly did the "show my soles to heaven" routine, landing flat on my a$$.

And as I was struggling to get back up on my feet aqain, the only thing I could think of was "And I just DROVE MY CAR on this $hit???" :D

HAHA, id be in for some of that, not too much though. dont need any wrong attention!

rexxrally
The most fun, though, is to check out the multi-level parking lots, like at Southgate or WEM. The upper levels are even icier because they're off the ground.... :D

TheNeonEdge
NAIT parkade.....too many obstacles though and you'd have a hard time drifting around the corners because they are too narrow.

rexxrally
When I went to NAIT, I used to like to hang around until about 5:30 - 6, until the parkade was just about empty. Then, I'd challenge myself to drift my car (an 82 Corolla Hatchback at the time) as far as I could at one time.

My record was 3 levels (and the 2 180 corners) in one drift.

TheNeonEdge
wow, i would love to see that :D

my best record was last year during winter, drifted around 4 different sets of poles in kinda a figure 8 in a safeway parking lot.

So far all i could get was 1 level, my trans am is too long to go sideways through those turns. ;) Maybe ill give it a try with the infiniti.

I really hate not having a nice warm place to put my car duing my NAIT classes, it sucks having to walk for 15 minutes just to get to school! Oh, and the crazy old Service Engine Soon light just came back on to welcome me to the new winter year, stupid EGR valve, I wish I could just shoot it and have the issue go away.

It was actually really easy to drift in the parkade at NAIT. The way the levels are tilted, and are such shiny concrete (from all the rubber laid down on them over the years) and being open to the elements, it just makes the levels like skating rinks.

All you have to do is time it just right so that you slide through the turns with not too much angle (because, like you said, not enough room for a Trans Am), and then the car practically slides sideways all the way down the next level all by itself. When you come to the next corner, you just turn a bit more, and give it a little gas to give it some forward motion.

My little Corolla was like a curling rock, and I just had to nudge it a bit to change direction.

TheNeonEdge
that....is awesome! I thought u meant drifting up. I did 1 level going up in hte morning, the people behind were like :wtf:

Dude I could go for hours, lol

I think I'd beat you based purely on having better gas mileage!
