Can I insure a beater for one day and how does the coverage work?
And no this beater will not be taken to an empty parking lot where stunting will occur *ahem* |

Most insurance co's will not let you insure a car for one day... :(
My insurance company will however let you use pre-existing insurance on the "new" car for 14 daysfrom bill of sale.... as will the registries w/ your license plates....
So have it sold to you and take your insurance cards and registration/plates and go drive it... but call your insurance company first to make sure this applies on your policy. |

I have never had trouble getting temporary insurance, even for a couple days.
ME:"Hey, I bought a car in saskatchewan and I am going to be driving it back on XX (days) of XXXXXX(month) of XXXX (year), and I need liability coverage"
Insurance Agent: No problem sir, I need your last name to look up your policy.
Me: (damn near the longest last name in Canada)
IA: Make/Model/Color of vehicle and serial #?
Me: (gives info)
IA: Fax # where I can fax you your temporary pink card?
Me: (info)
IA: Thank you very much, your temporary pink card proving valid insurance between date X and date Y will be faxed to you within the half hour.
Me: Thanks.
That simple, remember, you are the customer. The customer is always right when the customer is being reasonable. |

| You can get temporary registration and insurance. Call your insurance company and tell them you need to move a vehicle and they will help you out. I have done this before a few times and never had a problem. |

You guys must be like 25+ or something, or else my insurance company are a bunch of lame asses!
To even move a car, if I want it "properlly" covered then I gotta open a policy each time I move it... soooooooooo stupid. |
