I want to have a party at a chinese buffet but have no idea what's a good place.
It needs to accomodate a large group, a private room would be sweet, and the food needs to be top notch. BTW, it should be "white mans" chinese food, like the Mandarin.
Any suggestions? |

I don't know. The Mandarin is a large chinese buffet restaurant chain in Ontario and I was assuming that there maybe the same style of restaurant here.
No suggestions????? |

Other than that, Foody Goody...if there is still one around |

if anyone seriously boycotts Chinese food because of recent news they certainly do NOT have a mind of their own.
"Oh look! TV says a Chinese restaurant had dog meat in their freezer...hmm...since I'm such a smart person that means ALL Chinese restaurants hide dog meat and/or other contraband (look a big word!) in their freezers!! I'M NOT EATING CHINESE FOOD EVER!!!!!!!!"
*Turns around*
"Kiiiids, we're going out, I turned your babysitter on to Channel 7!!!!" |

ya but this is one of those things people have always joked about, but never really thought was true, or at least though it doesn't happen around here. chinese restaurants servings cats and dogs...
now it turns out it is true, and it does happen...
"Oh look! TV says a Chinese restaurant had dog meat in their freezer...hmm...since I'm such a smart person that means ALL Chinese restaurants hide dog meat "
well that's pretty ridiculous thing to think, but it's equally ridiculous to think they were the ONLY restaurant in town to be doing this...so who are the others?? obviously it's not all..but there must be SOME...how do we know? Just take our chances?
hell i used to live like a block from there...who knows maybe I ate dog...i have a mind of my own, and I'm gonna stick to food where I can trust that I know what's inside. |

Royal Buffet in Callingwood faces 69 ave behind Safeway, beside Dairy Queen. Awesome food, maybe not as much room as you need but check their
capacity before totally turning away as an option. |

you poor poor man...
:tear:
scooby dooby: you're right, how do we know other restaurants don't serve illegal products, or drop your food on the ground & serve it, or wash their hands after cleaning the washrooms, etc.
You don't know any honestly, when you eat out...you are eating the dirtiest food ever prepared (compared to a home cooked meal where you know exactly what is clean & what is not, etc) |

| I would say.. what you dont know can't hurt you.. but in this case you do know that this place served our beloved fido.. So yeah just take caution when you go out.. But dont let one incident scare you off...After all there were no reports of people getting sick... And you only live once.... so eat where ever you damn well please.... |

Whenever you eat out, you are taking your chances but I wouldn't single out one genre of food as I've worked in a lot of this cities kitchen's. One restaurant that comes to mind, Sawmill downtown has such a filthy kitchen. I worked there for exactly three hours. Never set foot in that place ever again as an employee or guest.
When I used to work in a kitchen, I washed my hands so much, that my skin would get dry that when I would go home, I'd have to use a quarter of a bottle of moisterizer to keep them silky smooootttthhhh!!
I've seen a lot of crap behind the door that where ever, whenever I cooked in a kitchen that my food/products that I was putting out would be made with the most sanitary way possible. I also believed that if I wouldn't eat it, why would the customer want to. And I also went by, "if you have to smell it twice, chuck it." :D |
