so what do u guys think of rota rims????? they're pretty cheap for the price in the US liek 500$US for a set with rubbers...but more expensive in Canada just for the rims like 250$ each rim no tires.....

Magnum
why not just order them from the states...

TofuBoi
just dun like going through all that hassle......border charges and crap.... also dun know much about that company that sells em........ its better to get it from a local shop if u have problems....... just checking out options for now..... till spring comes.... hehehe :D

superpirate25
I'm most likely picking up a set of rotas and I'll be ordering them in from the states. You still save a lot of money even when you factor in shipping and customs charges, at least that's what I've found so far.

TofuBoi
i found this place...... the price looks decent...... http://www.revolutionsmotorsports.com/

There are a lot of the Nissan guys that say that Rota's are junk. Many stories of them falling apart, and having hairline fractures. I was thinking about these wheels too, but now I"m leary. :(

REFLUX
with the cheap relative cost & light-weightedness of rotas....it would be cheaper to break a rota than to repair something else that has similar weight (volk/ssr/advan/jdm bling)

replace 1 rota = $125USD
fix a dented forged rim = probably a lot more than $125USD

I checked out that one site posted; these rims arent only for subaru's are they!?
They look pretty nice and cost looks very user friendly. I may look into these myself. :fingersx:

REFLUX
they have different offsets/bolt patterns for different wheels
I know that the Mugen-like rotas only come in 4x100

so I assume the popular subaru ones (tarmac?) will only have 5x100

Slipstreams have quite a few boltpatterns as do the te-37 look alikes

Excellent thanks, ya I will look into these. Very nice for price.

TofuBoi
u can check them out at rota-wheels.com....... i think.... tells u about the rims

TofuBoi

From what I have found out from the companies I've emailed, including the one on gbc, they usually want an extra $50 USD on top for shipping here.

Nope, they now have 5 X 114.3 in the c10s, I've seen it on honda-tech, talk to Jaydm.com about those

Like I said, way cheaper to get them from the states. You can get a set for $500 USD shipped which with the current exchange rate is $650 CAD. Add the extra shipping and the extra fees and you're still getting a better deal.

If anyone is doing a group buy on rotas let me know, I'm looking for the 17 inch subzeros in black. :fingersx:

I've been looking at some and they're going for 540USD(750ishCAD?), no lugs and no tires.

Gotta love rotas! In the summer I rock 16" grids that i've powdercoated the spokes black and polished the lip with 215/45 azenis, great sticky combo!

That's where I'm getting my subzeros from. 16x7 @ 14.5lbs = good stuff.
Called them yesterday, about $700 CAN total with shipping. Can't beat that. 15's are cheaper also.
They also have very low prices on tein ish. If you call them they should be able to quote a lower price than their website.

All kinds of good deals here:
http://www.honda-tech.com/zeroforum?id=45

and ebay ofcourse.

peace

I bet you I could match that price by the time the rims reach you.
Depending on whether your particular bolt pattern, color and size are in the wharehouse I could probably beat it.
You will pay Duty on those rims when they hit the border as they ARE NOT manufactured in the US. Tack on 6% for duty at the border.
UPS Brokerage Fee will be ~$45

For 16x7 Subzero's, if they are not in the wharehouse, I would charge $880 landed in Edmonton.
I am running a special right now on Rota's that are in stock at my wharehouse, if they have your particular flavor of 16" Subzero, I can get them into your hands for $810.

If you guys are wondering where and how rotas are made..
http://www.autoindustriya.com/articles/fa00025.shtml

A set of 17s would probably costs less than $400 locally, i guess factor in the shipping across the ocean and tariff and duties will probably land you around the 800 range..

superpirate25

Guy if that's what you're looking for you really should go see PE Tuning. They'll probabaly be able to match the best tire and Rota Wheel prices that are out there, and you definately won't be able to get TEIN suspension cheaper from pretty much anyone else than them. They're an official TEIN dealer (only one in Western Canada, i think), they get their stuff right from TEIN USA, not from some distributor, so there's no middleman to mark up the price. Trust me, i bought my TEIN's from PE and did alot of research before i bought and was very impressed with their price. Would have bought my tires from them too, but i had already ordered them from Tiretrends in B.C. before PE carried tires.

That's how much they cost from the factory in the Philippines.
