HELP MY CARS SMOKING BLACK - Click HERE for Original Thread

TypeRWannabe
So my girlfriend bought a 92 precidia and it never started until a couple days after but it blows a puff of bluish-blackish (i think) smoke when you start and when you acellaate moderately. I want to know where i sohuld take it to get it looked at if it needs a rebuild how much does that cost around???

Sounds like its running rich, and burning oil. Maybe changing your O2 sensor will help with the richness, but blue smoke is a more sever problem.. sounds like it needs a ring job or something. Is there an oily film on the bumper above the exhaust pipe? what about the ends of the tube?

White Smoke = Coolant = BAD BAD BAD, headgasket, oil will look like chocolate milk. You WILL wreck the bearings in your engine. Somehow cooland is getting into the combustion chamber.

Blue Smoke = Oil = Poor engine, probly bagged on, oil not changed in proper intervals, bad rings, amung other things. Somehow Oil is getting burnt.

Black Smoke = Too much gas = Change O2 Sensor, MAP/MAF/CTS/IAT sensors, might help.. clear the computer codes and see what it does again.. or you could be driving an old desiel :)
