It just simply needs to be 15 years old to the month it was built for it to be legal! :) Anyone buying illegal cars are suckers, and I hope nothing bad happens to them. |

and u import a framre of a r32 from some wrecker in japan and than go with aftermarket parts or just keep importing shiet u need to dress up that frame. u can get rb25det or even 26dett no problem with the rest undert the hood goodies.
this way u don't need the car to be 15 yars old cuz all u import is parts. or i the frame is less than 15 years old they won't ship it? :tear: |

I've seen that it can be done... but it'd be hard to get past customs if it looks driveable.... a buddy of mine had a car "seized" because it was too new nad it was on salavge title for import. |

I don't understand why people are in such a hurry to break the law on a car the become legal in less than a year (GTR)....
The laws are in place for whatever reason.... but they're still laws that we need to respect so we can continue to bring these cars in when they're legal and not have problems with the gov't. |

| i think what he is saying is that if there is a loop hole in the system that means its no longer illegal and 15 year old rule wouldn't apply.if you rob a bank and cops f@ck up on the arrest you don't go to jail, charges droped becouse they messed up on procedure even that you did a crime. so if there is a way to get a car into the country and get it registered and insured than its all good even if you not supose too :wacko: !i dunno just a thoght! |

Thanks and thanks......Will be getting R32 GTR, GTS-4, or GTS Type M..........and I am hoping to be with CPS middle of next year.
My brother looked into getting skyline 2 years ago and I helped him...we soon found out that there was NO way around the 15year rule.......he was on the phone with transport canada and customs for like 2-3 hours each.

| I spoke to Lon the other day, and the skyline at silverstone came up in conversation. As you may or may not know Lon has tons of experience with this stuff and he had this to say "I have no tollerance for people that bring this cars in illegally, it should not happen." So obviously he is not the type of guy to seek out ways to licence an illegal vehicle, such as licencing it as a land rover or such. He then went on to say "If its from Japan thats tollaly illegal, this cant be done". (we all know this by now i hope!) Lon then told me, "but on the otherhand if its from the states (whichthis car is), then yes it is legal and can be done, its just very costly to do". I don't know all the in's and out's of shipping cars and am in no way an expert, but if Lon says it can be done than I belive him. I guess if you wanna know just how it works you would have to speak to him about it. |

That's a false statement.
The europeans and aussies buy their cars from the Japanese, true J-Spec cars shipped to those places.
Japan was truely the only place to get 300ZX TT in the 2+2, and it was never imported like that to North America, but rather every other place. |

| Redbaron, if you want to argue the point every nissan is j-spec, all 300zx were built in Japan. Including your American model, my Canadian model. In Japan like Canada and the US and Twin Turbo was offered in only 2 seater form only. The aussies and the brits were never offered a 2 seater model that is how you end up with a 2+2 twin turbo. The german model never had a corner marker, it was a vent to cool the front brakes and the fog lights on the front became the marker light and signal light. the true J-spec (Japanese Models) the orange part on tail lights is white and has chome around the lens. |

That's a good way to get your car cut in 1/2 by customs... they don't take kindly to you lieing to them.... Any sorry sob that does that deserves to loose their car. For instance the dude who had the Skyline gtst, he mentioned to me that he suffered a loss when they caught on w/ one of two he brought in and siezed and cut it in half at his expense....

I'm not going to debate what you do or do not know. It's fairly obvious you do not know import laws and that's what this thread is about, yet again.
Unless it's from the US and is on the admitance list the cars aren't supposed to be here unless they're 15 years old.... even these "eurospec" rides of yours..... but whatever, I believe most current members of the NECC know this sort of stuff and won't get themselves in a bind trying to get a car thats newer than it should be.

| Yes I have a friend who does own a red TT, no he has not crashed it. Is it in storage for the winter the same as my 300. Sorry Chris I got rid of most of the car now. I still have the front end 'the rotors and and three way struts' few other bits of it including the front nose. I built my motor with parts from your old one. Your block is now in my car with a VG30 crank out of a hardbody truck. VG30 nonturbo heads with my J-spec cams and new turbo. Unorthidox racing flywheel and underdrive pulley and a centerforce clutch. It is quite the frankenstein, but is now ready for me to bolt on my ZEX kit now. |

Yes, its the guy called Tim, white guy with the red TT, who claims having HKS turbos installed, I know it smells BS, just want to make sure about it. btw, his blue signal light bulbs really looks match with that Z. :thumbsdown:

And i dont understand why ppl with fast cars always have to go to club, dealership, Reg's shop(I USED to :wacko: ), dyno, or track, it does not prove anything at all. someone like to hold back, and someone like to show off, no big deal.

As for people around town with fast cars, I know what you're saying Mike. But maybe you missed my point... I was just generalizing with examples. I've been part of the local Z32 scene for SIX years and what I meant was you can hear rumors & speculation all the time about these mystery/phantom cars... but there's never any proof. No one's got names, or even DETAILS of the mods supposedly done. Anyone can BS people about what mods they have. I know about several highly modded Z32s in Calgary, and Vancouver, and know some of those guys personally. I know the cars actually exist. I've ridden in some, crawled all over them, even driven a couple of them. But I have never seen any actual PROOF of a very high-hp Z32 with aftermarket turbos existing in Edmonton... yet. If there is one, SHOW ME.
When a *nice* car exists around town (whatever kind of car), sooner or later word gets out, people see it, people meet the guy, people encounter it, etc. etc. and you start to get stories that corroborate each other -- then you can start confirming that yes such-and-such car exists, and yes it really has ____. Unless people keep their cars sealed in a box and never see the light of day, sooner or later people eventually find out at least something about it.
If you ever come across these guys that make bold claims... call them on it. Ask them the details, look for proof. Absolutely that doesn't mean they can't exist. Nothing ever surprises me. |

yea, you are right, but what i am thinking is that even if we get a better turbos, i wonder who will be able to do it, for those who specialize nissan cars in this city i know they will NOT be able to handle the job. but so far i am very happy with my new shop's work after all these crap happen to my swap. and you know who should be freaking responsable to my z :angry: |

| No, Tim has a bunch of upgrades on his Z but never said he had turbos. He did just have a set of Greddy intercoolers installed. The only Z I have seen cash was about a year ago and it was a black n/a two seater. So what kind of car do you drive Darkz. |

Anyway, I too heard about a red Z32 that crashed in Edmonton within the last year or so. I never seen it myself, but it was supposedly a TT (but not known for certain), and had big exhaust tips (similar to Tim's). I know it was not Tim's car, but this isn't the first time someone mistakenly thought that it was his. The wrecked car was seen by another member of the EZCC at one of the local auto wreckers earlier in the year, and speculation was afoot for a brief period until the next time members saw Tim & his car intact at a meeting/event. |
