This is the point.

DOT means nothing.

There is nothing illegal about bringing in a say a 1992 car from Japan. If customs flags it through it is perfectly legal. If you can insure and register it it is perfectly legal. If you pay the import taxes it is perfectly legal.

Loophole. Fact. You can bring in a 1995 fair lady TT. Just as long as you tell this is for rally purposes only(off road). This is tax free. However; you cannot register it and drive it on the city roads till it turns 15 years old to avoid taxation and safety issues. Bring is some r32's now. Keep em in your garage till they turn 15.

***other points.

When the government catches on about how much stuff is coming over they'll put a stop to it. Either by taxing the hell out of it or saying it is unsafe.

When someone gets killed(due to unsafe bumpers and missing marker lights and steering wheel on the wrong side) the gov't will put a stop to it. Make no mistake.
the cops have not noticed my missing safety lights yet.

Insurance companies will also catch on as well.

Let's not forget about when they tighten emissions. Alberta - your day is coming soon.

Further, I import cars as well. I currently own a JDM car. I know chris very well as well as Lon.

I posted this here because I read a few misnomers regarding the "Laws".

I also posted this here because I read the columns. Just because my handle names a toyota product doen't mean I am not interested in Datsun's.

Also, I posted this because the mediator edited my last post(unfair).

have a good day.

For the record, I'm a moderator, not a mediator. Second, I didn't edit your post, I closed the topic.

We all knew that you could bring them here, and they have to be 15 years old to be road worthy. You could bring in a 5 year old Skyline if you wanted, but you couldn't drive it on the streets.

We appreciate your concern over us wanting to know the bylaws in bringing these things.

I hope you're talking about Chris Ferrari... because I don't know you...

My question is why are you trying to convince people to bring in a car that is illegal?! Do you want to see them getting cut up at the border!? Ever Fairlady Z(32) that is here currently is illegal, there are two from my knowledge and a skyline gtst by the same guy.... he had more, they got cut up at customs because he lied and tried to pass them off through "loopholes."

Can that be done?? If you bring in lets say a 14 year old car then wait till it is 15 years old to register.

mr2guyedmonton
Chris ferarri, went to Concordia at one point??

a cousin by the name of Mario?

Strange I just remembered this.

If not I have seen your name around the NG's.

But.... I wasn't talking about you I was talking about Chris at www.importconcern.ca

Thanks

I am well prepared for emissions.

My nissan truck had 220 000 when it got written off and didnt burn a drop of oil. It also got 25 mpg in the city. Maybe you should think before you open your mouth.

redbaron303
Check back on his posts about some cars "he" was selling back when.... apparently he knows plenty.....

Hi,

In august I will have a 1987-90 nissan sylvia convertible for sale.

This has a red top engine in it and is a ragtop.

Price shold be around 14K CDN to your door.

I will have pics soon.

This car can be legally driven and registered in Canada.

It is not stolen or writeoff material.

Car has roughly less than 100 000Km on it and is a good clean car.

This one is also a fast one. Turbo 6 cyl.

Man I want a 1987 Redtop 6cyl Sylvia. Sounds rare.

SRBURG13
Bwwaaaahahahhahaha. 6cylinder, '87. NICE.

I like how much detail he puts into the add. What a :fruit:

redbaron303
I like that... haha

Uhm, I actually believe that was one of Lon's cars that he just recently sold....

SRBURG13
yeah, thats what I was thinking too. Sounded like Lon's car.

redbaron303
I wonder why these ppl advertise for lon: this dude and redlynemr2.... As far as I know it's just lon and his brother.

mr2guyedmonton
Nope not advertising for lon and his partner(not brother).

Sold that car months ago. Sorry. You may view it in Chiliwhack BC. I got $11500 for it.

If you want another one. Please feel free to email me.

Perhaps you can do another search on my old posts.

Thanks, really.....

:)

SRBURG13
ALright, it wasn't yours. Fine. Good job.

What about that totally hurtin description of it?

redbaron303
That's not what I've heard... anyways it's besides the point.

That post you put up about the Silvia was very decieving and misinformative, it doesn't help build the trust of a Nissan Club when you try selling a product to them that you don't know much about or didn't at that time...

You're suggesting breaking laws and such to get newer cars here, that's not cool man.

Why not just tell us to become big drug dealers and finance $100k cars w/ drug money... you'd probably pay out less than being caught by customs and such for illegally importing cars.

IMO - I don't know you, but you don't instill confidence in me based on plenty of your old posts. I went through all of them, why do you think I didn't post up just one and said for others to check them out. If you want to sell the the Nissan enthusiasts of Etown some more product knowledge would be a good thing :)

Sorry for the rant, I don't mean to call you down on a forum, but some of the information you've been putting up is "out to lunch"

Hey dipshit I have a 89 Nissan Pickup, it has 322,000km on it and it doesnt burn any oil! As well it has 8 spark plugs, it is my understanding that this was for emissions as the second plug on the exhaust side burned of any remaining fuel. Pull your head out of your ass!

Oh and by the way can you hook me up 1987 nissan sylvia with the 6cly turbo engine? I have heard of those and I really want one! You find me that exact car and I will pay anything for it, money is no option!

Thanks ya Retard!

SRBURG13
Easy, easy. We don't need name calling.

180drifter
Sorry Aaron, I just dont have a lot of tolerance for stupid people.

SRBURG13
No worries, neither do I.

I also thought that I should share with you guys that DOT stands for Department of Transportation. This mr2Edmontonguy started another topic saying JUST this, and that we should know this if we want to import cars.

Ummm, ok, but I don't think any of us are really trying to make a living by doing this.

HOW GIVES A f@ck!!!!

And would everyone just drop this importing cars crap? Its starting to get anonying.

Pardon my french.
