BUS LANE INFRACTIONS ON 97 ST - Click HERE for Original Thread

Seks
I noticed that the cops are always either at

1. Crazy Horse

or/and

2. 120 ave

Do they have the right to set up their booby traps wherever they want without telling the owner of the land/lot (like Crazy Horse)??? I'm just surprised they haven't set up at some other spots yet that haven't been used.

ALIAS81
theyve actually setup right before the subway there on 97st right before keegans... theyve also setup on 122ave i believe as well... as far as being setup on crazy horses property, i doubt its an issue... whos gonna try and stop them...

I doubt the Crazy Horse actually owns the property where the parking lot is. I would think it is a holdings corporation or something similar. As far as setting up a "booby trap" there is no advance warning required & the parking lot is considered a "Highway" under the Traffic Safety Act which means everyone (including the police) have access to it.

I guess I will write a comment that I haven't for awhile:

People should pay more attention to their driving habits than criticizing people whose sole purpose is to make the roadways safe!

I think what they are trying to say is that it feels a bit like entrapment.

I would say that in this case, with the bus lane infractions, that its not really entrapment, however, it is a bit feeble.

But, like I said in a previous post in this topic; the EPS is having major budget issues and it is to be expected...

hahaha ya, i almost got a ticket on 97th this morning. good thing i cut in when i did! I usually ride the whole way down to nait in the bus

Lll_J
Yeah they were out this morning, I wish you did get caught kevin. I hate people that drive in that lane the whole way, and those of us who do obey the rules of the road, cant get into the lane to turn cause its full of people like you!!!! :D

But seriously, I have a solution.....

Stay out of the Bus Lane at the stated times, and remain ticket and hassle free!!

Yes its that simple!

Entrapment would be a cop car, or ghost car/truck tailgating you MAKING you speed up, or forcing you into that lane..

I have heard of ghost cars/trucks tailgating someone to get them to brake the speed limit, then pull them over and give a ticket.. thats so wrong.. :)

bus lanes are for buses, unless you need to turn ASAP, like half block. After that I believe you should be fair game :)

I agree with you jimbo, there is too many distractions to watch for while on the road, you have to pay full attention to the road.

I anyone saw the simpsons this weekend where Homer gets his car full of appliances and extra crap, you all saw what happened to him

He ended up going off the peir, and lost his licence

Crazy horse is perfect - no one will need that parking lot so they're free to pull people over into it.

And with it right after the lights, if you're still in that lane when you get pulled over it's because you deserve the ticket.

as stupid as it may sound make them hit you, it might make them think about the tactics they are using. personal favorite of mine is to shift down a gear and let off the gas, usually lets them know that you are aware of there presence and unhappy with the way they are riding your bumper. and AFAIK perfectly legal

SplineZ
something i might have to try if it ever happens to me :D

Here's a thought police are where the problems are or at least we hope so. So if there is a lot of activity(infractions) complaint in a certain area of course the police should be there. Keeping it safe for you and me.

As said in Liar Liar. "QUIT BREAKING THE LAW A..HOLE. :D

they were most likely Traffic cops and they sometimes have small enforcement operations for 1-2 week periods. Don't drive in that lane when you are not supposed to and everything will be fine.

So I wonder what would happen in that case, a cop is tailgaiting you and you for no apparent reason lock em up just cause. Could you get charged with reckless driving?

SplineZ
Heh.. cars are never the same after being repaired :(

why put myself thru the hassle of trying to sue the police for anything? do you know how much time that would take? and on top of that, there probly is some retarded law saying that if a cop hits you while on duty, you'll get a 1000bux max, and a box of doughnuts.
