i got a bus lane ticket the other day ($172 bux i might add) but the officer spelt my first name wrong on the ticket
now, i heard this means that the ticket can be dismissed because of the error, is this true ??? |

| How badly did he mispell your name? And it can mean the ticket will get quashed but not definately. I had a ticket quashed because the ossifer forgot to put the time to appear on the ticket. |

Time/date is uber manditory.. they NEEEEEEED that there..
I got 2 tickets.. one that the wrong city.. that was reduced cuz i brought it up, the first one had the wrong date.. and it was quashed.. chances are good it will get removed :)
Name well... he did have your drivers license with him.. it should get quashed.

With printing on the tickets, the officer may have wrote the name down properly, but in a way that others may not read it easily (We all print differently).
I'm sure the judge would ask the officer to read off the name, and if he can then I assume it'd be ruled as legible. |

| I actually talked to a guy from a ticket fighting agency in regards to this when i got me a hefty ticket on my bike. He said depending on the severity of the ticket and the mistake it can be tossed, however if they feel worth it they can re-issue a corrected ticket. I asked him and he said that if it is a minor mistake i.e mispelled name, will not quash a ticket, incorrect name, however, will. Bigger mistakes like wrong name, wrong date can get it tossed, again depending on the severity of the ticket if they re-issue or not. This guy said he was working in the traffic division for 27 years before the career change so I trust his opinion. |

the CP gave me 3 options
- Pay the fine, no dimerits
- Cancell the ticket with officer notification. He would get a letter saying he could rewrite the correct ticket within 6months (i think). I dont pay anything, and there are no dimerits. Unless the officer rewrites me the correct ticket
- go to court andtake my chances.
I paid the fine and took no dimerits.. :)
