Ok, I don't know the answer to this question, nor do I expect to find it here, but I'll ask anyway to bring some life to the forum <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://asianet.ca/images/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->:

In about 2 weeks I have a Kickboxing & Muay Thai Tournament.  I am fighting in the middleweight class.  145-179lbs.  Right now I'm at 170lb.  Most are at about 165lb.  I can either slim down to about 162lb, where I'll be quicker, stay the same, or gain and try to be closer to the top of the class.

It's a points based scoring system, no KO's allowed (for safety).  If you kick someone in the head and knock them out, you get DQ'ed.  If you deliver a solid body hook, knocking the wind out of someone, and they quit, you get to keep competing.

What weight should I try to get to.  I think i should slim down.  Any opinions?

Slim down fat-ass!! haha.....no, but it's easier to loss weight in the 2 weeks u have then to gain wait. Don't forget, if u try to gain weight, it'll most likely be fat and not muscle....thus u'll be carrying unnecessary weight that will slow u down.

By slimming down u have less weight to carry around, thus u can be faster and quicker...hopefully u won't lose strength and power too.

I think you're right.  162 is the goal.  But I'm phat, so I don't know if I can get there.

I got beat up  pretty bad last night, got some questions for you.

If we roll with mouthguards and 12oz or bigger gloves, I'm game.
