As fr afterhours, I have not been to any since Therapy changed owners, but apparently Y (the new one) is good. I think G-Spot opened again too. |

I think we are debating between Rum and Standard. it depends on what crowd everyone wants.
Btw: Great meeting you finally!! |

| Hey there's a party going on on Jan 31, Futureshock 2004 ... it's a opening party for a new online record store based out of Edmonton. Lots of local and Calgary talent ... More info at www.waysofthewicked.com |

| Nothing makes me happier than the fact that the rave scene has died in this city. |

| I used to really enjoy the scene years ago, but I have just not been too into it lately. I guess it is the parenthood thing. I am a lillt upset that I missed Bad Boy Bill, he is one of my fave house DJs. |

Yeah, Future shock was the one i mentioned, I think I might go, but I think it's liek 30 bux, and it's all local DJ's pretty much, no big headlinber that your paying for.

| :D Well hopefully it takes a long rest. At least until I'm at the age where nobody I associate with attends them. |

| Raving was cool, untill a saw 2 of my friends lose like 60 pnds in like 2months and watched their lives fade away... damn exctacy and crystal meth... damn em both to hell! |

Aaron: That is one serious thing with a lot of ravers. I hated watching my friends do meth. It is so horrible on your body and mind. These people now are not even close to the people they were before they started using. I cannot say anthing too hyprocritical about exctacy, since I had done it when I was a lot younger (19), but I am very thankful I never got hooked on the stuff. My memory is still trying to recover, and it has been years. Sorry if it made no sense, I am running on a couple hours sleep.
Andrew: I was thinking about Futureshock, but I don't think I want to egt back into that scene again. |

See Aarons answer. And the fact that a large percentage of the people I ever met at a rave or with my raver friends were the type of people I would never want to associate myself with, for various reasons. Now that the trend has died off I no longer have to sit around in a shitty club with terrible "music" watching wasted losers dance like idiots just in order to spend time with my friends. Note that I am not saying everybody who attends these things is like that, but everybody can attest that during its peak, that's the way things were. The friends of mine who are were into the whole thing still are. It's just that they no longer spend every waking minute going to raves or therapy, because the scene has died. Hence my happiness, I can now hang out with my friends without having to be someplace I detest. |

Thats all good points, fortunatly me and my friends are some of those few that are not into that particular part of the scene (esspecially cu zI only got into it a few years ago), a little green is fine, but nuthin more than that. fortunatly all the people that were my friends that I know that went down a similar path, not necessarily at raves, stopped being my friends as they did this,
I take back the middle finger I gave earlier, you have reason to detest the scene, but I think it is more rooted in detesting those that waste their lives on such shit, I think it's a total shame that the rave scene is so rooted in shit like that, and I'm sure thats why it's becoming mroe and more difficult to schedule and host events like raves, round here at least. The worst part is that the people that just like the music get fucked in the end, oh well, such is life!
PLUR! |

| Exactly, my dislike comes from what raves brought with them and became. Now that the hoardes of high school kids and other trendy losers have moved onto the next thing, mabye you guys can have your fun without it being ruined. I probably would have had a lot of fun going to parties with my friends if it weren't for all the crap that went on. Not to mention seeing it destroy people I know personally. |

Totally agreed, I can't imagine what it's liek to watch those clos eto you throw it all away, I sorta can, but I'v ealways ended up distanced from it...
Well if you ever wanna check an event out with some reguler people that just like to dance into the wee hours of the mornign your more than welcome, that goes for anyone that else on here to! |

There Is a new club that just opened up at wwest ed called "escape" I believe its kinda a hard house techno club. My friends dad did all the electrical in there and said it looked pretty good. I kinda want to give it a t ry sometime, but just letting u know that it may be better than rum if thats the kind of music you want.
