gaining weight - Click HERE for Original Thread

high school
Well im 6'4, and 154lbs. So bascially, im a stick. When i pull my arms forward you can see my damn ribs in the back!!! hahah well anyways ive been tryin to gain weight. Sure id like to be super ripped, but if all i did was work out, id look like bruce lee, cept like 2 feet taller :D

Anyways ive tried weight gain powder from GNC, it gave me the shits, so i stopped taking it. And technically i should be one fat bastard cuz i eat lots of fatty, greasy foods (yes i know this is horrible for me). On a side note, im a pretty active guy. I play hockey 4-5 times per week, basketball every once and a while.

So basically im looking for a diet plan for better foods for me to eat, i know lots of protein is good, but i eat shitloads of meat already. Also does anybody know where i could get a workout plan? Anyways any help is appreciated.

You can have some of mine?

To loose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume.. So in order to gain weight you must do the opposite by consuming more calories then you burn off...one way to do this would be to have many meals during the day rich in calories ect... Also the greasy foods can be okay, but only in moderation... because to much can clog arteries ect.. Also you can try weight traing and build more muscle.. because mucle is more dense than fat and there for you will be ripped and weight more.. But in the end Be happy with yourself.. And if you can't be then i would take chromey up on his offer....
:D :D

depending on what you wanna look like, you can try creatine, yes i know most of the weight gain is only water buildup but you also gain a lot of muscle mass. drink protein shakes, and eat carbs, lots and lots of carbs, they will help you with energy and converting those calories into some stored energy (ie fat/muscle).

Hey high School....how old are you???

Im assuming your still in your teens.....18, 19????

Your metabolism is still quite fast, it will slow down as you get older. But for now you need to eat about every 2 hours. Consume about 30 grams of protein per sitting and eat about 6 meals per day. The protein can come from any source.....meat, protein shakes, eggs, cottage cheese....what ever just mix it up so you don't get bored of it. Im not saying stop playing sports......you dont wanna stop doing something you love just to gain weight but all the cardio your doing is burning up all your calories. So you will have to up your intake even more. And also eat lots of carbs as well. Gaining wieght for some people is as hard as loosing weight for others. It wont happen overnight....it will take time.

Just basically do the same thing as I do! Eat all the time, drink high calorie drinks (Damn Starbucks) and work out to build the muscle mass (Okay, that I don't do)
I have never been a fan of using those creatine type stuff, or anything like that. I'd rather do it naturally.

Highschool I used to be in the same boat as you, eventually you will start to put on weight. I couldn't break 170 till I was 22. Now I'm sitting at 200

Lots of good advise here other than the creatine suggestion, dont use it.
Im the same way, losta hockey, and football and anything else i can do. Im 6' and 150lbs, skinny, but like you my metabolism is very high. Patience (spl?), and lots of food. Once your metabolism slows down youll notice the weight come one. Now it prolly wont unless you stop physical activity, and even then it wont be worth it, that would be more harmful in the longrun. Hope this helps! :D

Thanks for the advice guys  I eat close to every 2 hours as it is, but its mostly sugar and such. I was talking to my buddy today, who is my work out partner, and he said to eat lots of things like sandwiches and less sugar and grease. I have acne :( and it hasnt gone away for like 2 years now. He had the same thing and said once he started eating better it pretty much went away. So im definetly gonna start eating healthier and try to eat as much carbs and protein as i can. Im also working out min. 4 days a week now, so hopefully i should start seeing some results!
