I am thinking of buying a car for 100 bux that was jump started wrong, and now wont start. When this happens what are the likely problems? Would it cause alternator, stater, batter or computer damage or all of the above? This car would be a sweet project car, and for 100 bux I am planning on picking it up...

Hey, one time my brother's car was jumped backwards, and all the fuses blew so nothing on the car worked. He replaced the fuses, and the car was okay. What kind of car is it?

Ive heard of computer damage, neven personally seen it. But ya all kinds of fuses can blow, your battery terminals can melt down depending how long the cables were attached the wrong way. Can create ghosts.

ive also heard that you might need to replace the whole wiring harness as well?

nah nothing with replacing a wireharness. fuses are inplace to prevent that; might have a battery leak from that as well

The damage will vary from car to car. But for only $100 it is worth buying. I would buy it and check the simple things first.

There is 2 fuse blocks in most cars... the main bus fuse will be under the hood if that is blown you get nothing... there might be 2 of them

For $100, I'd say it is a minimal risk, even if you can't figure out what is wrong or it is goign to cost a lot of money you can take it to a wrecker and get most of your money back

One of the ladies at my previous job boosted her car backwards... The main relay popped.... and a fuse needed to be replaced.. thats it :)
depending on the car im sure a replacement wouldnt be that expensive, specially if your buyin the car for a hundred bux
