I'll need to remove my tire from my prelude this weekend since it has a small leak and flatens every 3 weeks or so.
Is there a reputable tire shop that can remove my tire from the rim, inspect it, repair it, and remount the tire on the rim without damaging it? Suggestions..... |

Same way tire shops do it. Just buy the kit for like $5 at canadian tire. You get an assorment of tire plugs. Then goto your nearest gas station, pump up the tire with air, then scortch the tire with the tool they give you to inser in the tire to scorth it. Then add the plug to the plug insertion tool, add the glue they give you then pop it in the hole and WALLA! Fill the tire back up with abit more air and your off.
If the leaks comming from the side wall, your pretty much hooped. You'll need a new tire. |

Good tire shops actually patch it from the inside of the tire, which is supposed to be a much more reliable way to patch it. But you're right it does cost a bit more.

| Westside Acura has a very good tire machine, good for 24"s. |

I've heard the exact same thing - to always get a patch on the inside.
When it comes to something that could blow out at 110KM/H, I'll play it safe. |

| Remember V rated tires and up are not recomended candidates for tire repairs if they will be seeing thier rated speeds. |

Depends were you bought your tires. I bought mine from Fountain Tire, and they offer 2yrs warrenty on flats. Meaning I can take it to any FT, and they will repair it for nothing, as long as i have the recipt on me. Canadian tire does the same thing.

My tire is a factory tire. I'm not going to do some sort of half a$$ patch job myself, I'll leave it to the professionals.
I'll give Kal Tire (on 170th St) a try since they did host a V8less car show earlier in the summer.
Does anyone have hookups at the Westside Acura? |
