is there anyway to argue a towing payment, when the driver left the car in the lot overnight because they decided to get a ride home?? i mean cmon?? you do the safe and right thing, and then they tow the damn thing away and charge you for it. any advice or any idea if this can be appealed?? please and thanks

If you dont think you are going to be able to drive home, dont bring the car, and if you do, then dont drink (assuming thats the case).
Its simple... just plan ahead.

Call someone you trust to drive ya home ;)
If i go out and end up getting drunk, I just call my parents to drive my car/me home... or one of my friends (that wasnt out drinking)

Tell me if I'm right:
you left your car on private property (parking lot?) longer than you paid for, and your car got towed. you were drunk and you think because you did society a favor by not driving, you shouldn't have to pay for towing???
If that's the case: :tear: |

If the parking lot is a "pay as you stay" type of place I can see the vehicle being towed. Most parking lots have big boards w/ instructions / do's / don'ts. As far as a public parking lot ... I'm not exactly sure why a vehicle would be towed for just an overnite stay.
Maybe this would be a good time to promote "Operation Red Nose" & similar type programs. There are a lot of options to drinking & driving that when you consider the consequences are "cheap".
Jimbo
P.S. Whoever did leave the car instead of driving ........ GOOD JOB!!!!! (sorry about the tow though) |

The Driving Alternative/Keys Please Kicks ASS.
From the north east end (130 ave 82 St area) to 149-97 Ave area was $25 including a healthy tip. They drive you home in your car. It doesn't get any better than that.
I figure a cab ride alone would have been $15, never cabbed it along this particular route before.

I used Op Red nose, and I wasn't overly impressed.
From the westin hotel 100st and jasper i believe. to W.E.M. it took us 35 minutes.
he thought the fastest way would be to go all the way to whyte, down fox drive, to the whitemud then to west ed.
I dunno I was just mad because of the way they took, They should have jsut went west on jasper until i think its 105th or 107th and gone straight to west ed.
I dunno, it was cool that they drive you in your own car though, that saves a lot of hassle.

for everyones info, it wasnt my car. It was my boss here at work. I understand the stipulations of thinking and planning ahead.
Insomniac- It wasnt a paid parking lot. It was for customer parking and she was a customer there. There were signs posted for overnight parking restrictions, but "JUST MAYBE" (read this several times if you have to  ) they might give some exception. It was a mere question and you had to give a dumbass answer.
bucktown-do i know wonderbread???!!! dont i wish!!!!! |

i know exactly how your boss feels, the same thing happened to me last summer and there is no way to get off, i tried and it didn't work. i even talked to a good friend of mine (who is a cop) and the only solution he could find was pay the ticket. how much was it?
ps we all wish we knew wonderbread |
