Getting aftermarket parts for CR-V - Click HERE for Original Thread

Shimarisu
Hi folks,

I have HONDA CR-V here planning to modify to CR-V Type R (Well, there is no CR-V Type R exists, but there are some of my buddies modify CR-V close to one of those Type R cars). But I have been having a problem getting parts here (such as front/rear strut bars, ground wires, air intake, mods, so on). As a result of being aftermarket parts, Honda dealers, of course, don't carry them (or priced ridiculously expensive whatever). I dropped by HondaToy, but the ppl there seem not knowing any CR-V part. So I'm wondering if there is any way to purchase parts instead of bidding on auction sites and avoid suffering from high shipping costs in US$. I appreciate your help! :)

Hey shim,

Some parts are simple, some are not. You listed ground wires, your best bet its to make them yourself, its also cheeper. I have yet to do mine but they are in the works, parts can be found at any audio outlet (certified, a&b sound, JB automotive etc.)

I sugest you do a lot of searching and research on the internet, you will most likely have to do a lot of the work yourself. Find some other people that have done some work similar to what yoru looking for and develop your own mods.

We are working on making a DYI monthly thing (thats do it yourself) if you want to come out and work/learn your more than welcome.

Hello Dark

As researching CR-V aftermarket parts on the internet, I ran into the same situation as you mentioned which is DIY. The groundwires seem not too difficult creating one, but in order to install them, I necessary gotta have the clear understanding of them. So do you gather with ppl and discuss/learn DIY?? If you carry a meeting somewhere in the city, I would like to drop by:)

Shim,

This board has a wealth of information on it, lots of people have done many different things, everything from an enjin swap to simple stereo stuff.

We are working on the DYI night/weekend but there is some serious projects getting ready. Hopefully we will have some type of structure put in place soon.

As for your mods, I am working on a Hyper wire ground system myself, Probetunerforlife will be involved as soon as I get my act together. If you wanted we could most likely do ours at the same time for convienence.

Only time will tell.
