Is there such a thing as "High Temperature Primer"? Does the color of primer matter that much? Ive seen red/silver/black... I heard that "red oxide" is better for rust, and some others are for high wear areas? please clarify!
I have a few things i need paint that will see some pretty high temps...
and while im at it... Paint that will stick to plastic.. it doesnt have to be for automotive application either..
Thanks!

For rust-proof paint, try to find a 'Zinc Enriched" spray paint.

for high temp paint, they make brake drum and caliper paint thatll work, ive had mine on for about a year and half and its hardly even chipped. Also high temp. farm paint will also work.

Im sure there must be high temp primers, because there is high temp paints.
Keep in mind you can tint primers, so not all colored primers have a specific purpose.

there definately is high temp primers, and red oxide primer is decent for rust but you have to consider it already has rust in it depending on what you are painting and how you want it to look you can go through the wide selection of paints at crappy tire, or you can go to a place like carlson if you want a bit better quality. Let me know what you are looking for and I can go with you and help out, I did industrial coatings for a few years so I know a "little" about paint.
