alright so i got some coilovers on my car and i dont get how to adjust then the damn car is so high there like a 4 inch gap between the tire and the fender both front and back. so today i tryed to adjust them by twisting the 2 thing up to the top and it still is like 4 inch high what am i doing wrong here guys?

nismoracing
what ccar do u own , and what kind of coil overs?

arabian_ryda
90 240sx fast back with some blue coilovers guy said ther from the states something racing i think

i believe u want to twist them lower, hence the point of lowering your car, or would it be higher, to compress the springs?

im not sure, some one make this clear.

i think i Can help.If your are the style like mine, where the threaded sleve and 2 large aluminum "nuts".Seperate the "nuts" from each out and bring them down seperatly When they get near the bottom of the sleave stop moving the lower nut down and Move the top "Nut" down until it is snug with the other "Nut".The Reason Yours May Not Working is that like in my case the wrong Shocks were installed. Each Shock manufacture puts a small lip were the threaded sleave sits, some like KYB have a higher lip than others thus causing the car to sit higher than stock no matter the degree of lowering you do on the coils.Make Sure who ever installed them followed instuctions and Used the Proper Shocks.

Sorry its So long.

ok so the struts are stock on the car would that make it stay higher?
also i had a freind tell me that u need to take it around the block and go on some bumps for them to adjust is this true?

Yes they will settle, but not that much.

heres how the coilovers r mounted on your car...

heres how they should have been mounted for max lowering!

ppl cut the factory perch an get one fabricated 2inch 's or so lower....

SRBURG13
Well, thats one way you COULD have done it.

i would be worried about safety after that

sil_eighty
why??????

looks like a pretty mean weld to me.....seeing that the factory just pretty much spot welds them, and thats sufficient enough for saftey

.......

so how good/bad would the ride be on these type of springs?

CanadianR
Man, i wouldn't want to lower a 240 that much, talk about having NO compression travel left.
