What an idiot.

arabian_ryda
im suprised he didnt sell it yet, and isnt it an 89 or 88?

Nis240
wow 17000 for a car that probably cost 5000 in japan.......What a deal:drama:

DeathBy240
Less than that man uner 3000.

redbaron303
I didn't realize the GTST had a V6 in it.... new to me.

And I would imagine that's the same one I drove and the same one that's been around since summer....

I also assume that thanks to all the talk about buying imported cars most buyers for that car will realize it's illegal and not buy it and save themselves the hassle of being fraudulant.... :)

Tsunami
no shit... he has 1990 written right there... good luck.

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
wow a v6 .....wonder what he swapped into there :P

mx73someday
Chris the one you drove had 160,000+ kms on the odo. I can't believe someone actually got suckered into listing with great cars and trucks.com, that company is so no annoying.

Bad Egg
He might sell it to a rich dyslexic kid who has just graduated from the GT Playstation game.

2003specv
How the hell does he know if it's a non-smoker car?

Bad Egg
:dunno: Maybe by non-smoker he means it don't burn oil=no blue smoke:rolleyes:

redbaron303
Not to stereotype... but a lot of Asian people smoke, or did then.... That seems to be what a lot of my friends parents say, so I would bet it's been smoked in but who really knows????

ummmm you dont have to be rich to buy a GTS-t, or a GTR... stupid people will pay.........and there stupid for it:blink:

fools!

CanadianSkyline
Hahaa, thats the car that i drove. I flew up to Edmonton to take a look at it. Its a 1989 GTS-t. But he says its a 1988b, which was made earlier, total b/s if you ask me. The car is nice though, not worth 18,000, but nice none the less. It had exhaust and an air filter, and i would bet it ran high 14's. The only reason i didnt offer him money was because its not here legally, in a few months, if i knew it was legal, i wouldnt hesitate to buy it, it seems like a nice enough car.

DeathBy240
Its not worth a dime over 8000... maybe even less. Spill the beans on your Skyline-to-be.

CanadianSkyline
Haha, spill the beans ehhhhh, lol. Well, you convinced me, lol. Its a black 1989 GTS-t, with a newer RB25det swap, front mount intercooler, GTR seats, full coilover set up, rb26det intake manifold, blitz cold air intake, and i will be doing some other "things" to it once it hits canada.

redbaron303
I just hope you can verify that the car you are getting is LEGAL, or bad things could come if it's not.

I bid you luck in getting the car you want. :)

CanadianSkyline
Its through Lon, so i dont see a problem there. If i found a better deal somewhere else id consider it though. Can you guys do mods in japan on the car, because i dont want a GTR, but want more power than an rb20det, pm me with any options you guys have. Thanks, chris. I havent given any money to Lon yet, so im still open.

knight180sx
If you're planning on getting the R32 with the RB25DET, then you're in luck for getting parts here in north america. Wayne from Phase2motortrend has recently started carrying parts for the RB25DET.

http://www.store.yahoo.com/phase2mo...ts/rb25det.html

mx73someday
This is confusing, how many different Skylines are we talking about here. How much does Lon want for the RB25DET one, how many kilometers?

CanadianSkyline, which GTS-t did you test drive? The 160,000 km one or the 81,000 km one?

"this is an auction for a nissan skyline gtr the coloirs may vary due to STOCK!!!these cars are rare to come across and are on us soils and are in good condition and is ready for shipping. attention!! i do not legalize these cars only moto rex can so you either dont get caught driving it u use it as a race car or you take it to moto rex to leagalize it serious inquires only!!! please email me for more info and contact info"

Tsunami
you gotta like the honesty though... not that a buyer isnt responsible for their purchase and should do research instead of only thinking of how cool they want to look in the car and how many people it would impress.

Having a car seized after spending so much would not be cool at all.

agreed ... it would be funny ...I bet that has happened before ....I even hear about that here .....I am getting a "bunch" of skylines .... need money upfront and its yours....lame ..

Tsunami
yah, no doubt. But then again, pre paying for an item sight unseen is the dumbest thing some1 could possibly do. You are just asking for problems and at that point, it is well deserved.

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
but .....but but ...its a GTR ..... you dont understand ....I wanted one ever since GT2 came out and FnF ....hahahaha

Tsunami
heh, too true...

you know what I cant wait for... people to start buying skylines and then have to pay to mod them. Happy shopping folks...

btw scott, your PM's are full again and I am gonna stop playing the PMing game with you from now on cause I hate typing up a message to have it not get sent :p

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
yah its empty now ... they seem to hide themsevles after you receive them ...

all I hear about lately is skylines .....how people are going to get one and peple who have them and CAN get them and shit like that .....its amusing to see how it all goes down ....everyone eho says something I always ask for more information and challenge their allegations ....nothing ever pulls through .....

Tsunami
that is mainly because they are testing the waters to see if they can make some money without taking the risk. There are a good number of reputable importers who bring things in, then there are the people who go through those importers to bring in the odd car and have to mark it up substantialy to pay for the investment, shipping, the importers fee and make a profit.

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
reselling ....tsk

I test drove the one that this topic is about. Its in sherwood park, and is a rb20det GTS-t R32. It isnt legally here though, but in a few months will be, and at that time, if i didnt already have a car on the way, id offer him something like 10 or 11, just because it is here so i know its in good shape, has wheels, exhaust, some stereo and intake. To me, it would be worth extra to buy one already here (take no risk). Im not buying that one though, because i am buying one through lon, a black 1989 GTS-t which lon is putting a fmic, rb25det, coilovers, GTR seats, heavier clutch, intake manifold, and cold air intake on it for me before it comes here, the rest im doing later. For prices, your going to have to contact Lon, id rather not tell you guys what im paying, and then you go to lon wondering if you can get one for the same price. Dont believe me if you dont want to, or call Lon and ask about me if you want, lol, ill see you at the V8less show with it.

Tsunami
cant wait to see it. You'll definately turn heads. And with an engine that can produce some serious power you could do the same at the track.

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
this year is going to be great ....so many nice cars at the shows and around town . This will be the year that rice is going to become unfashionable for sure ...

CanadianSkyline: Good to hear someone is actually serious regarding this situation and hope to see the finished product this summer

just say NO

CanadianSkyline
Haha, yep, thats the one i drove. It is actually a nice car, just not legal and from a "shady" owner who really doesnt know anything about cars. Anyway, im past the "talking about it" stage, so it will be here may/june. Im looking forward to it more than anyone, haha.

redbaron303
That IS the exact same car I drove Christian, there is only one "black" GTS-T in town and Raymonds "GTR." Both illegal and that's the end of that.

Anyways, there isn't anythign "special" about that gts-t, I know I can get that same car for about between $7000-$10 000CAD imported to Canada when it's legal to import.

If the KM's are different on it now than when mx73someday and I looked at the car.... that's probably not a good thing.

Tsunami - I've purchased over 6 cars sight unseen from in Canada alone and I haven't been disapointed with one yet. The ones we've purchased from overseas have not been dissapointing either, so buying something sight unseen isn't a bad thing you just need to be cautious who you buy it through... I can think of local "private" sellers that have sold some super lemons and hide all the problems to the unsuspecting buyer, so having seen it before isn't always a great thing either.

Tsunami
if you see something in person then you better not get a lemon unless you dont know what your looking at.

Either way, it is the buyers decision. If they are confident buying the car without seeing it then that is their perogative.

The most important thing is that the customers make themselves more knowledgable as to what they should be looking for. If they want a car like a skyline they should do their own research and learn what designations the car came in, what trim levels and most importantly, what maintanence is going to cost. I dont think any of these people who think that they just "got to have a skyline" have any clue what it costs when the thing needs a new transmission or axles or even a headgasket.

Not only the cost, but the time it will take to get the parts. At least SR20's and CA18's have many parts you can buy here.

agreed .... that is what I have been sayign all along

mx73someday
The black GTS-t kicking around the Edmonton area is in horrible condition for a used Japanese market vehicle. The buyer probably picked it up at a Japanese junkyard just before it was about to be stripped or cut. Way overpriced, especially for an illegal car.

Just because the car was here long enough to become 15 years old doesnt mean it becomes legal when it turns 15 years old. If it was imported illegally, it is always illegal, unless someone exports and re-imports it.

redbaron303
There are parts readily available here for all models of Skylines, if you want one you'll do the research to find out how nad where.

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
readily available within reason and for a price of course ...

knight180sx
Big bux for GTR parts and small aftermarket support for RB20DET.

To some extent. It depends on what you want, it could be here tomorrow and be cheap... or it could take a week and be hella expensive... but they're readily available and not going to take 3 months for the most part. The person I'm dealing with for my parts currently has more RB20DET and GTST driveline parts availalable than the GTR, but this is something we're working on getting quicker, cheaper, and easier access to so there isn't a week wait for certain parts. All things take a little bit of time, you try having a Nissan dealer stock parts for cars they've never sold or serviced :)

Also parts could be here next day... but like Typhoon said everything has a price on it... :)

CanadianSkyline
I totally agree, there is no doubt in my mind that if something were to go seriously wrong its going to cost me. I also know that i can get used parts through Lon for basically the same price i could get stuff for my prelude now, so im not too worried about it. Having the newer engine gives me some peace of mind as well. I am also not one of those people who is going to drive the shit out of their skyline, a lot of that being because i dont want to break anything. Personally, the advantages of having a skyline far outweigh any disadvantage. (ill be saying that until the engine goes on me or something, haha)

redbaron303
Just by chance.... have you seen the other cars that Lon has imported?

CanadianSkyline
One of my buddies owns the red drop top S13, but i havent seen his cefiro, he's bringing in a hopped up s13 in a month of two, and im going to go take a look at that to see what im getting myself into, if i dont like what i see, i guess ill have to go somewhere else, either that, or not put any money down til i have the car and its in good shape. Is there something i should know, btw, its not like that soarer is an amazing car either.

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
I just hope he has a safer way of transportation lined up to get his cars here than he had before if you want them to come in good condition. Heard about the cefiro/crx/silvia shipment and how it was damaged, people learn and he prolly has something else lined up to get the cars here mint.

Tsunami
the problem is that importers want to cramb as much shit into the container as possible to bring the cost per unit of shipping down. Leads to poor quality product being unloaded. The way it should be done is to have a seperate container for auto's aside from parts.

Chris

agreed and I hope that is how it is now ... is there any kind of insurance you can pay on that sort of setup or is it rather one a single unit car coming over ?

redbaron303
By having them transported in a single vehicle shipment, not stacked on top of each other in a container you avoid the good possibility that a car will fall onto the one below it.....

The Soarer was an excellent car. There wasn't anything major wrong with it, we have all the inspection forms here if you want to see those... I can make them available to you. The body was and is very clean, no major damage to it and the interior was like new. Overall it was a very clean car that we had, and most people that saw it/drove it would agree with that. I found the biggest problem that car had was it's automatic transmission! Oh well, to each their own... I know I enjoyed it when I got to drive it :) I don't see too many cars for under $10 000 in the same condition that Soarer was in, locally.... oh well :) It's all good in the end.

I know I'm a little biased in my opinions, but it doesn't bother me to buy a car b/c I'm confident in what I'm getting and haven't been dissapointed thus far. :)

are you sure you just don't like the color scheme?:D

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
yes and no .... it has a nice kit and wheels and paint ...and is a gtr ....might be a good car for the money .......it does resemble the car in my sig ...

MightyMidget
like i said before.......that illegal GTS-T doesn't look like a Range Rover LAND ROVER :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

BTW- GTR all the way baby!!!!! CHRIS HURRY UP AND FIND ME ONE!!!!!!!! :asshole: :p

This is the Babelfish-translated description for that car (prolly why its so expensive):
