I know E-town is kinda boring, but there's gotta be some nice places to take someone. Can anyone give me some ideas?

s2oooR
you gotta be kidding me dude? right?

there are tonne's of things u guys could do! You know, its even more impressive to a girl if u can show her a good time in a town that doesnt have much?

I guess it also depends on teh girl. I know for mine....she loves walks at night.....so we take a walk at the park or around my place....then fine a spot to sit and just lay down adn watch the stars....to talk about nothing, or not to talk at all

If all else fails go for a drive with the top down at night....best feeling ever! ok maybe not teh BEST..but u know what imean

I've noticed that there's lots going on at the Edmonton Art Gallery but haven't been there for years. I think I'd like to check that out.

s2000r, I love doing stuff like the walks too, but I guess I was looking for something a little unique that I might not have though of.

I'm with masterv.. the simple things keep me happy, besides you have to understand that dating never going to be like in the movies, where it's super exciting everytime you go out.

Scintillater
don't do the friend visit...borrrriiiing. trust me. not a way to impress a girl. whatever you do, as long as the night is PLANNED and YOU do all the planning, and have alternatives for each event...she'll be more than impressed, since guys usually never have an entire evening planned. it's usually "so...what do you want to do?" and then you spend the whole friggin nite saying that to each other.

s2oooR
Sometimes the guy doesnt wanna plan the whole evening because what if the girl doesnt feel like doing that thing u had planned?.....happens, u know?

coldrsx
that japanese street car that goes on top of the high level and then a nice walk in hawrelak....never fails

Scintillater
Well...if you feel like taking the initiative, and YOU asked for the date, then I think planning it would be a good idea, with alternatives and room for flexibility of COURSE. Obviously nothing set in stone, but don't go out cold and having nothing in mind...nothing less impressive than that.

s2oooR
I guess your right.....

do u have any cant miss dates?....i.e there must be something all girls like to doooooo I know that we've come up with a few ideas but they're all from guys!

ManHunter
a fine dining restaurant is nice too. you don't have to plan too many things for the evening since you'll be at the restaurant for a few hours. And she's gonna like you when she sees how much you're gonna pay on the bill.

Hemingway, or Unheard Of are excellent restaurants. All depends how much you're willing to spend of your date.

And you have plenty of time to talk and have interesting discussions in a quiet atmosphere.

Where are those places by anyways?

how much we talking about?

any ideas on whats good there? ...its not TOO ritzy, is it?

ManHunter
Unheard Of is on 82av, around 96 st.
Hemingway is at 10942 124st.

They will both ding you for around 50$ per person if you include wine.

Of course, you need reservations to get in. And don't wear jeans.

Nice places! Might have to check it out sometime when my gf gets here

I've tried both. Excellent. Whenever there's a birthday in my group of friends, we go to nice resturants.

japanese is always good for dates... I don't know why, but I like it....
Same with something unusual... like going for a nice long walk or something... that is good too.

Talented
Well thanks again for the suggestions, I did end up going to japanese just because she likes it, then just went to Taste of Edmonton. I guess it's nice we have these festivals, it gives us unimaginative people something to do

PunkA$$
for dessert, try Death By Chocolate on bourbon street in west ed. they've got a seating area in the back and they kick ass desserts.

for your first time there, share the Death by Chocolate. This is real chocolate. not the stuff that hurts your teeth from too much sugar. the portions may not look to big, but even i have trouble finishing sharing a plate with a date.

great service too
