Hey all, well the time is coming for some change for the club. I'm not sure when/where/how this change is going to come and in what form, but it will eventually.....
Here are just some topics that are of concern in the near future:
The web page is nearly done, and the forum will be placed up there as well. Should be good. And there are a bunch of rules that need to be put into place there just like any other forum. The last thing I want to see happen is an unmoderated forum, and suddenly you have EO on your hands. So the rules will need to be made up in the near future, but I'm not too sure what to choose as rules right now. Maybe some ideas from other forums will do the trick. :dunno:
On the webpage, there will be sponsor areas, or will be in the future, or topics made to speak of the sponsors on the forum. There will be no tolerance for other companies to come on there and advertise/promote their company in anyway. That is one way the NECC can make some money to pay for the hosting and web page maintainance. This will be all looked after when the page is up and running. A cost for the sponsors will be arranged thereafter.
A leadership 'team' will need to be arranged, as some of the work in the future may be a little heavy on the shoulders for me as I have other things in life to pertain to too. Possible positions of 'webmaster' (pretty much already taken), a treasurer to handle the financial stuff, and someone to help with the organization of meets, and other future events. Also some moderators etc etc. I'm not sure how this will be parted up, but I have pretty good ideas who I would see fit in these positions.
Membership fees are comin soon. I have already made an application form, and I'll need everyone to fill this form out so that I can keep record of names, phone numbers, email address, cars, and whether you have paid or not... At this time I won't have the time to organize a membership card yet, but trust me, there will be one soon. But the membership fee is becoming crucial, as I don't want to have to pay for everything myself (webpage fees, hosting, domain name purchases, stickers, and eventual members cards etc etc.) I've already incurred $50 for the domain name, and the hosting is another $200, and soon it will pile up. We are not an "official" club, so unfortunately some one person will be responsible for all money taken in, and all money will need to go to him, and him only. Only one person will be allowed to touch the money and place it where need be, so as not to get any thing mixed up.... The fee is $25, which is very reasonable, as the majority fo the other clubs are $30 and higher. This will include many things, but I'm yet to officialize that. Application forms will be brought to the meeting this Sunday, along with a few fliers to hand out to promo the club. The membership fee polices will be put into effect by the next two meetings, and from then on in, the polices that we will create will be put into effect...
I guess that is pretty much it right now. I just needed to get that off my chest, and let you all know whats shaken right now. Remember, this is stuff that I was just thinking about, but I don't know when it is going to happen. I know this is a long email, but I find it rather important. There is a bunch more to say, but I forget it right now. :D
Thanks all.
Aaron
Meetings: First Sunday of everymonth, Fastrack, 7:00pm.

Can you explain this further Aaron, because I don't understand. If a company/business is going to sponsor us some way, usually that means they will pay the club money, for what..... advertising, no? But you're saying a sponsor can't come on and promote there business. Then what exactly are they paying for? I would think it has to be a two-way street. We get something, they get something.
Or did I miss something? |

Yeah, I changed a word in there. I mean that OTHER companies that haven't paid for "sponsorship" or advertising rights cannot come on there and promo their company. I fully encourage a company wanting to come on there and promo their company, but it is gonna cost them. Advertising isn't free. ;) They pay for advertising and in return they get thier company put on the NECC webpage, a possible discussion forum, and all of the NECC members to know about thier company. We get money, they get publicity, simple.
I know the way I worded it may have put some off, I was trying to type it fast. Sorry.
Aaron. |

No problem. Thanks for the clarification. I don't think anyone was "put off". Or at least I wasn't, considering I don't represent a business anyway. But its good to make things clear.
