Well after a couple hours of hacking around we finnally came up with a final product.
THE END RESULT, NASTY!!!!!!!
hahaha :drama:
This is alot harder than it looks, sounds, and explained.
Seperating the red reflective housing was a bitch, we used a heat gun but it was very difficult seperating the two housings.
Next time well use an oven for this step.
Our Dremel was shit, the battery in this thing was like 20 mintutes, so we were inbetween charging the battery for 20 min intervals and watching Darcy hack up his 5th gen tail light trying to get out the amber reflector out of a 1" hole ;)
In the end our white turn/back up reflector piece dint sit in the housing right, and we couldent find a glue/silicone worthy enough to hold it onto the this metal bridge that seperates the turn and reverse light.
THIS IS HARDER THAN IT LOOKS.
If i can see someone who has completed this I will be sure i can do it right the next time we attempt it.
5th gens are easier than 4th gen's.
Thats my review, till next time  |

I didn't hack up my tail lights too bad. The plastic that surrounds the hole which hold the lightbulb got a little melted but it should still hold the bulb. If not, to the curb...
Now I just need amber replacement bulbs.
The 4th gen tail light mod is a POS after witnessing the ordeal Mike & Brandon went thru. And I thought mine was hard. Good luck guys on the next ginneapig. |

| I just did my taillights yesterday and today and it worked out fine...dont try to cut the plastic it is so crappy...i heated the plastic up over the oven and cut it with scissors...and put the lights in the oven for 3 min at 250 degrees when pulling apart or putting back together the lens and the black back peice...take your time tho if it doesnt come apart easily dont force it just heat it up a bit more so you dont end up cracking... |
