I've finally decided that I'm going to get a VAFC over hondata since my car is an auto and my swap will not be for sometime now....I need some fuel tuning to get the most of my mods....
Newayzz, I was wondering your guys opinions on the VAFC I vs. the II....I know the II has more points to tune, but I dunno if its really worth it. Also does any one know if they make a harness to connect to the ecu?? I really don't wanna sodder the stuff in place since my car is still under warranty and I could just rip it out when need be.....
Any opinions are welcome.
Also how much does a VAFC II go for?? |

I have the VAFC-I and I think it works just fine. If you want more tuning capabilities then you're better off spending more money and getting a stand alone ecu (hondata/AEM EMS).
I also have a custom ecu wiring harness which I got from PE Tuning. It's an odb2-obd2 and it eliminates hacking up your stock ecu wiring harness (stock harness->obd2 harnes->ecu). If interested, talk to 98luder. |

dammm...you guys are fast. You make a good point Darcy. I will probably get the hondata after the swap. I can save some cash getting the VAFC I.

Hey i think i can get you guys the Vafc2 for 525-550+gst, almost the same price as a Vafc1. It's not as bad as i thought. for the additional cost maybe go for 2 i think.
The conversion harness is 190Cdn, seemed to have gone down in price since the last one. It's quite easy plug and play. Only hard think you have to do is think where you want to mount the vafc unit itself. The wiring harness with Vafc adapter retails for 190, i can sell it to EPC members for 175

Oh....
I think we can do the Vafc2 for 550+gst
Vafc1 for 485+gst
adapter harness is 190msrp, 175 EPC price
tuning time 150 regular price with wideband, 125 for EPC/hr |

| What's the adapter harness all about? |

The harness allows you just to plug the VAFC into your ECU w/o soddering the wires in. Its really good, especially if your engine is under warranty and you need some work done. You just unplug that and away you go.....
This is the reason why I'm so interested in the harness. Also, the install time is cut down by a lot....plug and play... |

yea the harness is good for those that have warrenty or just dont want to cut your stock harness.
Think of it this way:
installing a vafc is like about 80bucks?
and your harness is cut
Total cost of install is 80bucks+time.
If you buy the vafc adapter harness
you can install yourself, save 80bucks, plug and play
and you can resell the adapter harness, and keep your stock harness uncut.
so....cost is 175bucks.
However, you can resell the harness later for say 100bucks when you dont want it, and saved on install which was 80bucks.
I guess things to think about. |
