Dunlop tires - Click HERE for Original Thread

Does anyone have any experience with the Dunlop SP Sport FM901? A set of these would save me about $260 over a set of Kumho Ecsta MX. I'm still very partial to the MX, I'm just curious about a cheaper (price and performance) alternative.

MrHeavyFoot
AFAIK, the FM901 is more on par with the Kumho 712. The MX's and Falken Azenis Sport are pretty much in a league of there own for street tire performance.

Aww, gay. Forget it then. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and spend $900 on rubber.

I had the FM901's in a 215/40zr18 and I thought they were pretty good for the price. THe traction was very good but the only complaint is that they were a little noisy. Nothing unbearable just hummed little.

why how much are the Azenis anyways? Better than the S0-3's?

2003specv
I think the SO-3 is better. It's also $100 per tire more than the Azenis in my size.

yeah, pretty pricey just like the old S0-2 PP's ....and they dont last v. long either :(

I have sport 5000s on my car, and they suck ass. I have 2 tires with toonie sized bubbles on them, I will NOT buy dunlop again I dont think.

I have used the Dunlop 9000s and 8000s. The 9000s are fantastic, great grip, not to noisy and very very predictable. The 8000s are just ok. I have also gone through a set of 7000sp and they are just an average street tire (all-season).

I would buy the 9000s again, but not the 8000s or lower in that series.

No other experience with Dunlops.

I have used a set of Yokohama A008RSII (autocross cmpd) as well as the A032Rs. The A008rsii were stickier but due to the lack of tread had no real grip in the rain. They lasted much longer as well. The A032R are awesome in the rain, and overall an awesome tire.

I used the A008RSIIs as my daily driver tire after they .lost their grip (relative to a new set, but still better than any street tire) for autocross.

I am currently going to be using a set of Kumho Victoracers for autocross.

The Kumho 712s are a slightly above average tire, with great wet traction, very predictable at the limit, but the limit isn't extremely high.

My next tire as mentioned will be either the S-03 or MX.

Yeah, I think I'm sold on the MX. Thanks for the input though.
