I was actually going to make a thread about Conans show in Toronto. I thought the insult comic dog was funny as hell as always. The best part was "You're in North America, learn the language" and "Listen closely. Hear that? It's the sound of no one giving a shit."

I couldn't agree more, Triumph was hilarious and bang on with the insults. You do live here SO learn the language, nothing more irratating than seeing 2 frogs chat away in their own language in Canada. If you can't speak english like the rest of us...GO BACK TO FRANCE!
Their bullshit about how they wanted to seperate a few years back, fucking move and let there be more room for the english speaking people.
And thank god that Chretien fag as outta here, that's the icing on the cake to me, know well see how the west gets represented from an ENGLISH speaking PM, go Martin!

Last time I checked Canada had two official languages ... that would be French and English.... so if you have a problem with two french people talking in french in canada ... then move to the states and eat some freedom fries with some other "frog" hating losers.
If French-canadian people that live in quebec (which is where the bulk of the french canadian community lives) have to learn english .. then I guess you should have to learn french too.
Does it bother you when chinese or japanese people talk in their language in front of you? |

Dude, Canada has 2 official languages. There are a lot more french people in Quebec also speaking english than anglos in the rest of Canada speaking french. So I throw this back to you: If you wanna live here learn the language.

Eric I kinda find that hard to believe since Quebec is prodominatley french canadians, but since I don't live there I can't tell you if your right or wrong.
I do know that Canada has 2 languages but my personal thought s on this topic ran away off hand. All I'm saying is that I get frustrated when I hear other people speak in a language that I don't understand. I had no interest in the learning the language by any means so I didn't.
Either it's just me but the english language can be understood nation wide and globally, so I see that language as a higher priority in this country and I'm sorry if that offends any of you. |
