| When selling a bike all the aftermarket stuff you put on it really doesn't raise the selling price....just makes it more attractive to buy for some people. |

| alot of companies arent insuring sport bikes anymore. Also most companies wont do a standalone bike plicy either. Primmum has good rates on bikes and will do a standalone policy. |
| buzzed |
i got a hell of a deal on painting bikes:D
aslo if anyone has an older one for sale rocket or cruiser let me know. |
| gsxr600 |
Primmum is good, pay as you ride. But my rates seem to go up every year, but i havent gotten any tickets that they know about, in the last 3 or so years.
even AMA gave me a decent quote yesterday, just a little bit more than primmum. |

what are you riding? |
| Mr_Wibbly |
just pl/pd, no need for collision. it's not worth an extra grand a year.

I agree...I pay IIRC about $525 a year for my 2000 SVS...just pl/pd, fire, theft and vand.

| I pay $697/year with AMA for full coverage on my 2001 CBR929. They were supposed to not renew my policy this year as I moved my car and they won't do a standalone policy for bikes. But low and behold I got my renewal in the mail and I called and its all gone thru. |

Im guessing close to a grand....but for a bike that old why have collision |
| FireBlade |
| would have to agree with Flex on that shouldn't put collision on something like that and with you being so young with no experience they are gonna rape you for premiums...would suggest taking a motorcycle course as that will lower your rates a bit....I know that last year I only paid 128 bucks for My NSR400.....unfortunately I traded it in for a BlackBird and now am payin 880 a year:mad: |

Damn....where did that 400 go???? Im looking for a smaller bike for my gf. |
| FireBlade |
| I traded it in at riverside Honda Flex....kinda wishin I wouldn't have but didn't have the room for it at the time....unfortunately I just bought a house with a triple garage so I am kickin My ass now....I was told that a collector from Calgary brought a trailor up and trailored it back to Calgary, the guy paid more for it then I paid for it 15 years ago,was still in pretty good shape for an 86 with only 28K on it.....not really a starter bike tho...kinda on the quirky side being a 2 stroke.....would suggest a 4 stroke for her |
| Flex |
| Ahhhh.....didnt know the NSR was a 2 stroker......ya I want a little 4 stroke for her. |
| FireBlade |
| yep all the NSR's are 2 stroke...you should look for an older Yamaha 400 they were a pretty neat bike and went really good and handled probly as good as anything they make now....could probly import a bike from Japan for pretty cheap, saw one site that had a bunch and they all seemed to be small displacement but looked to be in still pretty good shape |
| Flex |
| I have found an 84 kawi 4 stroke that someone imported in from Europe.....neat little bike but the guy wants to much for it. |
