Your probably wondering why this is in the dating forum but for good reason.
I wear my emotions (or whatever the saying is). I dont know about the rest of you but I dont hide them very well at allllll. You could probably tell how im feeling the moment u see my face (or by the way I type, for that matter). Now, this wouldnt be so much of a problem if Maria wasnt comming home on Monday but she IS! I would hate to have to talk with her with so much on my mind. I dont wanna seem disinterested in her stories about her trip to europe and stuff, but not getting into Accounting is really bugging me! (I thought I would get in for sure, considering the marks I was going in with.)
I think I would feel alot better if I knew I was at least going to NAIT's accounting program, but Monday is the first day I can contact them about talking to an advisor! (the same day she gets back!) You dont know how nervous I am about becoming a bum.....total bum, u know? Im not exactly sure how to describe what the feeling is....im sorta just lost....and the funny thing is, is that im using this forum to vent! LOL....how funny is THAT?! But everyone here are really good ppl so ....so your gonna have to put up with this post :P
Anyways, what I guess im asking for is some advice, AGAIN! How do u guys handle things? Should I tell her about it and feel like im stealing "the show?" Or, do I NOT tell her...pretend like nothing happend and try to sound as enthusiastic as possible about everythign she has to tell me?
I was talking to a friend of mine today for a couple of hours, actually.....and I think she could tell right away (even over the phone) that I wasnt feeling myself. I think she thought that if she kept me on the phone for 2 hours, that would cheer me up?...LOL....it was nice of her though :) I think it'll be tough to keep it inside and not tell her about it though....but I think I'll have a hard time sounding enthusiastic too. Knowing Maria, she'll think that I dont care about her trip or anything she has to tell me....any ideas, people? |

When you see her, of COURSE you're going to be happy to have her in your arms again rite!?
so BE happy
but when things settle/calm down, tell her that you have a lot of things on your mind, so if you seem like you're acting funny/unhappy/uninterested, it's not because of her
if she wants to talk about it, PUT HER FIRST. Tell her that it can wait and that you want to hear ALL about her trip first (and that you can talk about it later)
When you DO end up talking to her about it, tell her before hand how sad you feel. That way the both of you will be on a similar "emotion-wave"
She will understand better why you are bummed out.

...I think I just needed to hear that :) I slept on it and I think im feeling better today anyways :) I'll try to get everything straight on Monday with school and everything...
so #1 ...her first (but let her know that if i seem uninterested, its not because im not...its because I have other things on my mind...but tell her to go ahead and tell her about her trip first...)
#2 ....I should tell her about it/talk about it...but make sure she knows how I feel first....
Im sure it'll be ok like u said :)
