Jesus movie - Click HERE for Original Thread

2003specv
Has anyone gone to see it yet? I think I'll check it out.

REFLUX
I wanna see it too
there have been some strange happenings since the making of it

the actor who does Jesus was struck by lightning during filming and on one of the first showings, some woman blacked out when Jesus was being whipped/punished and she ended up dying

Anonymoose
I suggest everyone skip this movie and go see Life of Bryan. Much more accurate!

FYI the guy playing jesus got struck by lightning twice, and seperated/dislocated his shoulder while carrying the cross as well

scooby_dooby
haha, no way I couldn't believe it so I had to look it up. You were close, the jesus guy was struck once, and the assistant director was struck twice. creepy!

He dies in the end you know!

2003specv
Yeah, I already know the ending. I read the book before, now I want to see the movie. :D

I don't think the movie is a direct translation from the book. In fact, I'm pretty sure they leave out the part where Jesus gets frozen in carbonite.

VerbotenZ34
Well, it's not a complete book - they still haven't found all the pages of the original bible

Like the first page that states "All characters contained within are purely fictional, and any resemblence to persons, living or dead, is coincidental....":p
Just jokes, people

No, I don't believe Gibson is actually in the movie, he just produced and directed it. JC is played by JC.....errrr James Caviezel....heh

I'll check it out tomorrow night myself. I'll be one of the few people going in with somewhat of a clean slate since I've never read the bible or really spent any amount of time learning about christianity. Hopefully it's not a dissapointment...I mean it is making Mel Gibson into a damn martyr now isn't it?

I believe the only role Mel Gibson has in the movie is that he's the first person to nail Christ to the cross. You only see his hands however.
