I have trouble viewing some sites that require me to disable my pop up killer. I don't know if someone who used my comp installed a pop up killer program. Does anyone know how to find out if one is installed and how do i get rid of it??
P.S I run windows ME |

are you trying to view questionable material on these sites?
J/K I don't care what your looking at.
do you have the google toolbar installed? most pop up killers have a built in option that allows you to turn it on or off for certain sites to be accessible. I can't say for sure what blocker you may have installed though. If you take a screen shot of your program list and send it to me I could probably find it. |

If you have an NVIDIA based video card it has a popup blocker in the software, if you do have an NVIDIA card you should go into your display properties and in the desktop management section and then under the applications section there are EXTENSIONS, you need to go into there and disable the explorer extension for disabling popups...
Hope that helps (other video cards may have something similar). |

Z3r03rr0r>> no it's not questionable material haha but as for the program list, i don't know where to start to show u the list...as u can tell i am computer savvy hah. I had the google bar before but i don't know who installed it...i saw it a couple times before i got rid of it. Through the control panel. Perhaps there are still files lingering around that i still might need to trash? I have few ppl using this comp and I don't know of all their installs on here and some of them just use it, and dont' know what they're doing. So i don't know what i can do to disable something i've already deleted
PraxRX7>> I have the NVidia Vid Card, but i'm not sure where the display properties prompt you're talking about. I'm guessing it's the display under the control panel but yet i don't see a "desktop management" or it's application folder. Enlighten me please :D
Thanks! |

| the nvidia thing is something you have to actually knowingly install and it probably isn't the problem, the google toolbar is a good thing to have, you can try and hold the ctrl key when accessing the sites that you are having problems with, this allows the popups |
