Crime in Red Deer - Click HERE for Original Thread

Anonymoose
I just got a job in Red Deer and I'm wondering what the vehicle related crime is like here (break-ins, vandalism, thefts, etc). Hopefully its no worse than Edmonton as I'll be living in a fairly quiet neighborhood.

Unless your name is Cabel and you drive a Celica, you should be okay.

depends where you live in town, just because its smaller than edmonton doesnt mean you wont get your car broken into or stolen

haha, that's just mean! my car gets vandalized pretty frequently too.

mostly because i live on this stupidassed main street near branleys.

ya the crime rate is fairly high, however there was a thing in the newspaper today that said it has gone down. Basically, dont leave anything in ur car worth stealing, and take the faceplate off ur deck at nite. having a garage is pretty useful as well. Also i believe the higher crime areas are: highland green and fairview.

Anonymoose
Where are those areas?

you have nothing to worry about. be smart and dont announce that your car has stuff worth stealing and you should be fine.

What are the cops like here? Pissy about mufflers and such? I unfortunately have a fart can and am worrying how anal the po-po is.

if you do something dumb, and they know you did it, but they might not have actually witnessed it, they might give you ricer tickets.
i've yet to get a ricer ticket and i have a fartcan too.
