The Alberta Solo Association is planning on holding a Solo II Driving school this May. Before we go spending money on some of the goodies involved, we'd like to make sure that there are enough people interested for this to go ahead.
Tentative plans call for a classroom session one evening, a book, T shirt and a full day (approx 10-4:30) of on course instruction with instructors riding along with you as well as taking your car for a couple of runs. Lunch may also be provided depending on the costs/revenue.
Anticipated cost is $75.

The registration won't begin for a while. I'd recommend signing up to the Yahoo group though. That's where most announcements will be made. |

What is the instructor-student ratio?
for $75 I'm expecting something like 1-50 cuz the Evolution school costs some $400 and still only gives you 1-6 |

Well, the plan is for 30 students broken into 2 groups of 15 running on 2 separate (albeit short) courses with 3 instructors per group, so I guess that would be around 1:5. We'll probably have a couple extra instructors floating about just to give guys a break, so that would actually make it 1:3.75 if you wanted to get technical.
Evo school is $400 per day, but it is a commercial venture, so the school is making money, the instructors are making money and you're paying to fly these guys in from the U.S. They are almost all U.S. national champions though. Good school, just kinda pricey for some people. I've taken it the last 2 years and plan on going back this year. |

Thanx. That pre-registration form is just to get you onto the base for ASA events. There will be a separate pre-registration/pre-payment set up for the school. |
