FS: 1986 Corolla GTS Coupe in Edmonton - Click HERE for Original Thread

Okay, I've run out of time and space for this car, so I'm getting rid of it.

1986 Corolla GTS Coupe
2 tone blue exterior/ blue interior

The good: The body is almost completely rust free (really minor line across the roof, and little bits of rust on the underside of the fenderlips)
5 star rims, painted white
Tranny is good
New battery
Car is complete

The bad: Engine runs rough (new sparkplugs, rotor, wires didn't cure it, compression is even across all 4 cylinders, tho)
Clutch is weak
Windshield wipers don't work
Car needs an Out of Province Inspection to be registered in Alberta

I want $1000 FIRM for this car. This is considerably less than what the car has cost me, so don't ask if I will take less.

It's a good looking car. Fix the motor (or drop another one in for $200) and you've got a great GTS.

That's a shame Dave. Do you have any idea what the problem with the engine may be?:dunno:

I'm not sure. I think it's one or more of the gaskets: head, exhaust or intake. Because it's not registered for the street, I haven't been able to take it to a mechanic.

By engine running rough, can you be more specific? Like any symptoms or anything seems wrong. More clue maybe I can fix it after i bought it. Looking for a beater, and I might be able to get my hands on a replacement engine for free too.

He's already said he thinks it's a gasket - so grab a can of WD40 and you can probably figure out if it's an intake/exhuast gasket right on the spot.

You know what a 4 cylinder engine sounds like when it's firing on 3 cylinders? That's the sound it makes. You can rev it to the red line, but it still sounds like 3 cylinders. It starts with no problems.

Update on the car:

After getting underneath and looking, I've discovered that the rockers are pretty rusted out. I want to be totally honest with you all, so there's no misconceptions about the car, or that you think I'm trying to deceive anyone.

The car is still for sale at $1000 or best offer. The wife says I need to get it off the driveway.
