although considering plenty of other vehicles for purchase, a corrado is deffinately one of them. I'm not deathfully conserned with yr and model but would rather a VR6, but that doesent mean ill turn down a G60. Also all other options would be great but again not neccesary. (leather, A/C, moonroof, ect.)
I've been looking for quite awhile and haven't really gotten to far.. sadly. But know am in the market more than ever. therefor if anyone here happens to be selling their corrado (although i think theres only one on here) or have a friend or some one they know looking to unload, if you wouldent mind lettin me know.As im sure someone will ask what my price range includes, generally right now im looking and will entertain anything brought to the table. But like everybody else i like deals, so gimme anything u got.
Perferably edmonton, but calgary and area are not out of question, and would have no problem taking the trip if the right deal arose.
P.S. sorry for the terrible spelling as i am sure there are quite a few mistakes, but im sure u get the point. |

as for the other haters, G60 will be fine for now. Theres always plans for the VR6 swap or possibly 1.8 Lt. turbo V-DUB. And with only 128 K, things will be fine for now. also do plan on having the complete inspectoin, no worries fellas.
and lime, i would accually really like to check you ride out closer. saw it at the show but nothing really in-depth. take a look at that kompressor  hopefully soon enough we can compair.:fingersx: |

would anybody be able to explain to me the process of making an american car sellable in canada? the corrado specifically.
personaly i am not planning on doing this, but a fellow that i have just found that is selling his corrado was recently just brought up from the usa. Which i had just learned today after a breef conversation with him, among other things. Now custom to this "import" i understand that obviosly a car must be inspected... but he tells me that since bringing it here hes had some troublea... mainly that he will need to have an inspection before he can insure it, which, as previously stated i understand. but he seems to think that this will be somewhere to the tune of 1000 dollars?
now as i am not familiar with this type of thing i bring ti to the table of gurus... whats goin on? maybe this is mandatory or soemthing, but it just seemed odd to me for some reason?
and now hes threatening to possibly not sell the car and return it to the states. this i am not to happy about. I also suggested maybe we negoitate the price and possibly i pay for the inspectoin, baring it passes. or we split the cost and alter the price accordingly. So hes gonna talk to AMA and see whats the scoop, so i geuss il have to go from there.... hopefully it works out:fingersx: ive been looking to long to be shut down again!! |

| To My Knowledge The Corrado is Unable to Be registered Because it is on the List Of Inadmissable Vehilces,Due to it Having Automatic Seatbelts(and Some Other Small Stuff). Some Cars Are Allowed in to Canada For Upgrades to make them Legal However The Corrado Isn't One of them. You May Have to Wait Til It's 15 years Old.128K Miles Isn't That Great.Good Luck if you Need Any Help I'll Pm you My Number. |

I Disagree
Oh and The G60 like All Engine Will Remain Reliable If it Is Well Maintained. If you Take Proper Steps in Maintainance The Engine Will Provide many Years Of Good Health. With Regaurds to The VR6 I look At it This Way.Mods are Cheaper and Do More On the G60 Than The Vr6.The G60 Has lots Of little Problem Where the Vr6 Has Fewer But Alot More Expensive Problems.Plus You pay A Premium For a Vr6.Maintain The Charger On The G60 And You Will Have Lots Of Success. |

The website you need to know about, for importing cars from the States is http://www.riv.ca
And on that website, on this page:
http://www.riv.ca/english/TC_admis_list_nov03_Eng.PDF
if you scroll down to the Volkswagen page (Page 10), you will see that "ALL 1990 TO 1994 CORRADO MODELS" are not allowed to be imported into Canada from the States, PERIOD. You cannot fix, modify or update them to make them eligible. They are ineligible, period, end of story.
So, that's the problem your friend has with his "American spec" Corrado. Don't make it your problem. There is absolutely NOTHING you can do to make that car legal in Canada, so don't give him a nickel for it.

| you used to be able to bring the corrado in from the US but as of last year the situation got reassed and apparently the bumpers are to low or something like that which got it put on the bad list |
|
|
| rexxrally |
I would have thought the bumpers would be in the same place (ie, same height) as the cars originally sold in Canada.
Maybe the American spec bumpers don't meet the Canadian 5mph test. Down in the States, they only have a 2.5mph rule. |
