I really wanted a crotch rocket since I was little and now I finally have some money to get one. I called my insurance company a little too late today and now they are closed for the weekend and I was just wondering what you guys pay for insurance or have any rough guesses on what I'd be paying. Just turned 19, have been paying for my insurance on my car (never late on any payments) under my own name since 16 with no accidents or tickets. Any helpful advice apperciated!

Have you ever owned a bike before and do you have your class 6 already? If you havent be prepared to pay through the nose for insurance. Alot of insurance companies are dropping sportbikes as they aree considered to be high risk. Also dont get to big of a bike as they look at the displacement also for the cost of insurance.

Shop around is the best advice i can give ya....good luck.

i just turned 19 and am doing the same thing. When I called my insurance company they said that if I got my bike license and took a training course (which I planned on doing anyways) they would insure me under a 2001 CBR 600 for $780 a year

Yeah I have owned a little yamaha ysr 50cc when I was 14 and drove that to school. Lol I registered it as a scooter until I got pulled over and the cop seen through it. Anyways no I don't have my class 6 yet I was going to take it when/ if I could get a bike but I don't want my insurance to go sky high. I was personally looking into get an older ninja or somthing, just as a begginer bike. But yeah thanks for the advice!

I pay $870 for full coverage on a 03 xx1100 but I have 17 years experiece...that course helps bring down your premium but like you said you might wanna start with an older (smaller)bike to start with and just put pl and pd on it,no point insuring an older bike for collision anyways
